C'mon people, this is Star Trek, the fans are in the millions and range over several generations. I mean the next best thing to star trek is more star trek followed by more star trek. We must keep the faith!
You know that. I know that. A whole mess of people here know that.
Why didn't Cryptic? Wasn't that the excuse for the server problems? "We didn't expect such an overwhelming response?"
I think it's probably a combination of budgetary constraints, poor planning, poor implementation and pressure from Atari to push the game out before it was ready that have brought these issues into the mix. It's a bit hard to have faith in the face of that. Especially when we're out of beta and three days before official launch.
I sure hope it wasn't like earlier today, that was what, 2 and a half hours? Three? I wrote a program that texted me when the server came back on. I forgot when it died though.
I could drive over there and bang on the door... would take me about 20 min ... no joke
On behalf of all gamers around, I would gladly give you a twenty-spot to go rap on their door, wake em up, and then of course hit some munchies then come back and report. But quickly, we are um... impatient, and stuff. But I have twenty dollars.
hey look on the bright side something is happening. Now the site lists the server as "Undergoing Maintenance" rather then "Server Up" when it wasn't really. So somethings happening. Perhaps cryptic is attempting a form of communication with the consumer base...hmmm

And, obviously, it's causing anger.
