Game almost unplayable as I disconnect on rezoning more often than not... and then time out trying to log back in to the login server. Infuriating.
I know several others in my fleet are having similar connection related zoning issues.
Still i nevr had 1 disconnection in beta and none in head start so to do the thumb down aint perhaps correct not their fault its your connection or something else or many more would of gotten it
I never had a disconnect yet...You got a bad internet connection and your pals too...
Not a helpful response at all. This was a known problem in open beta. It seemed to have been fixed while I was playing last night, however, since my lag was bad, I started using the EU proxy. Lag went, but next thing I know I'm getting disconnected when I zone, then there are problems reconnecting.
Just wondering whether the EU proxy needs a bit of love?

Thousands of people are having this problem. If you do not have a work around/solution, get lost.
Why be so angry i just say i havent got those prob so it isnt always the dealers problems..To bad you got em but dont hate folks for it
What is annoying is that you are replying without actually saying anything helpful. A lot of people are having the issue, so discovering you do not does not help anyone.
Three of us in the same room, two of us having disconnets the other is not. It all depends on the instance. Cryptic is the problem. It was not this way last night.
There are a few forums on this issue and enough people having this issue that it should be addressed so that we are able to "factually" track down if its the game or Internet Provider. "I dont have a problem" is not helpful unless you had the problem and offer a solution or suggestions. This is bug thread not general discussion and even if I were the only one with this issue I would expect help from someone whom I have invested 360 dollars with, to at least point me in the direction I need.
If I can connect to WoW or Aion no problems then that says that its not a 100% IP issue.
If I can't connect to STO for more than 30sec to 10min then that does say there is an issue. Either in the game or the game working with the IP.
So far I have tried:
Login Options Proxy to None - This allowed access to login screen at least
Reboot of cabel modem (comcast)
Verified all drivers on pc up to date on my pc
Defreagged and ran clean up on my OS (Vista 32bit)
Reboot of computer.
I had this problem BEFORE i turned off the EU proxy, after that its been plain sailing for me
I am have having *slightly* less disconnects now that I have taken this thread's advise and turned off the EU proxy, but it is still happening, so... better but still pretty terrible (I disconnect about 1 in 3 rezones now rather than almost every time)..

Yes indeed. Age of Conan and Aion are connecting just fine, so it is something that STO is doing that is the issue here. Any trouble shooting/router setting work-around advice would be very welcome.
Does anyone know how this MMO works on a hardware level? My guess: If they are using a server farm or cluster to host the game, then it could be some of the nodes in that cluster have a problem.
This would answer, as someone said above, why you could be in the same room and experience problems where your friends might not - you're probably on different nodes.
Up until today I hadn't had a problem, but then I could log in but not see my characters, then timeout. I would guess this was my connection being directed from the login server to a game server and "not making it" IYSWIM. Maybe there's a problem with the distribution logic.
I'm getting annoyed as I havent had time to play, missed the end of the beta, finally get to sit down and cant play. My message to Cryptic: Sort it aaaaaaht!
Still happening for me. I have altered various settings, including the proxy (it did seem less frequent when using none, but lag kicked in instead), updated drivers, rebooted modem and router and tested connections to other games - none of which had any issues.
As a last resort I'm going to delete the local content and re-download the client, wondering whether maybe something didn't patch properly during beta and some left over fragments might be creating an issue - it's worth a shot.

Wrong. I connect to other MMO's and games just fine. My connection is perfect.

During US rush hour I am still getting server not responding + 40k ms.
Cryptic, you are useless.
Non US players just can not play your game , so you are gonna loose this market ASAP.
Oh, we still get no response from you guys regarding this pathetic issue !!
Youre not alone.
