Now for all ground missions I simply move forward, alt-tab out and let my team kill everything.
This change to make the game more " dynamic " has had the distinctly opposite effect on me, I would rather surf the internet, do my taxes or work rather than hit a # button 20-30x a battle.
It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who finds ground combat close to unbearable with this latest change. Initially I disliked ground combat, but I came to enjoy it more and more during the open beta. Without the auto-fire option however, I can see myself once again avoiding ground combat as much as possible.
I understand the lack frustrating the some - but I deliberately turned it off even when I had the option - interferes too much with activating other abilities.
So turn it off, some of us used it. In fact some of us only enjoyed ground combat missions when we had it.
There is a large difference from having a FPS with mouse button clicking and having to hit # buttons for hours on end. I already to some extent do that in space combat along with whapping the space bar every .5 seconds, I would rather have a UI dynamic that allows my hand/wrists to take a break.
I concur. Ground combat even as limited as it is is annoying now with me having to press fire manually when i have to shoot enemies alot more than once to kill.

I thought it was a bug since it wasn't working until I saw this post...
