Hi everyone,

I just got word in that the Liberated Borg is now be available for all individuals who have purchased a lifetime subscription prior to 10:00 a.m. PST. this morning. You will need to log out and back into the game in order to see this and be able to create your Liberated Borg Character. We will continue working to resolve this issue for anyone else who has purchased this special subscription package throughout the weekend.

Thank you all for your patience,

Stormshade

It seems to be working now....with any luck, things improve from here on out.

By the way, thanks for having a GM see that it was working in-game. That was
    very reassuring.

Yeah I was hoping for a few more subtle things along the lines of 7 of 9 's.

There are two types of Borg you could get. Unfortunately, at one point you could get the liberated borg through the C-store; however, that is no longer the correct way to get it.

Liberated Borg - A playable race you can use at character creation, it is only available for those who have ordered a Lifetime subscription plan. This was supposed to be available when the servers first came up, but it wasn't. The admins suggested we get it via the C-store, then the C-store went down. Now they're going through each Lifetime subscription account and activating it one person at a time.

When it's properly done, you should be able to login with your ID and password, create a new federation character, and see "Liberated Borg" as a playable race.

If you login by this time and still do not see the playable race "liberated borg", you should probably send an in-game petition first by clicking on the ? near the mini-map. Then try to say something in Zone chat that you're a Lifetime member who doesn't have his liberated borg yet. One way or the other someone should be able to assist you.

The other kind of borg is a Bridge Officer.

The Borg Bridge Officer will be available sometime on or after Feb 2 in the C-Store, and only to those people who have pre-ordered the game via Amazon.com (the US version of the web site only). Also, the Borg bridge officer will only be available AFTER you type in your retail game key at Star Trek Online web site.

Hope that helps to clarify a few things.

P.S. I feel your pain... I had to wait 7 hrs to get my playable borg character too. =)

This is a cruel joke, get the Borg only to get disconnected from server every 90 seconds.

Here's another clarification on the issue of the liberated borg as a playable race:

Unfortunately, I don't know whether this information is still valid or not... Sill, it wouldn't hurt to try the C-store first.

The borg wont be applied to you current character, you have to make a new character, but it wasn't necessarily for nothing, send all you items to your new borg and then sell them/use them...thats what i did.

As far as I was aware from the dev posts, we would be able to use the borg body for the uniform. This doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. I am unable to choose a uniform fitting of 11001001.

the last dev post on that topic in the old borg captain vs boff thread pretty much said the boff would be the one that gets additional options, including the ability to wear the full body borg suit.
kinda sucky, i'm hoping they change that in the future, along with smaller more liberated borg-like implants.

Took about 3 in/outs to get it, but mine finally showed. 13 hours late, but she shall be twinked!

The eye piece choices are a bit...big, I was hoping to see some 7/9 style pieces as well.

I do seem to recall both being slated for special hands.

As is, with the absence of gloves, the Borg has fewer hand options than regular humans.

Not a complaint. Just a weird observation.

Someone mentioned the C-Store - How do I access it and can it be done while servers are down ? I'd like to see what is available independantly by buying credits before selecting a subscription plan

You select it via your toon creation race list.

Anyway, I'm so glad to have my Borg now after wasting much of the day leveling up a humanoid to level eight.

Additionally, I was so sad to see that the options for toon customization was not improved from beta. I was so looking forward to making a Seven of Nine. :(

I hope when the options palette is expanded we will get a free rebuild for our toons. It will really, really suck to max out a toon during the head-start only to find out when the program is over that a whole new customization pallet suddenly appears.

I agree. Though I'm pretty happy to get my Borg at last, I have to say his look is more of a non liberated Borg with these huge implants. I had to battle really hard against the avatar creation tool to get something a bit sexy, and I'm not totally happy with the result right now.

Well, no doubt Cryptic guys will implement something soon.

Guess I'll be one of the few to say...

    Thank you Cryptic!

Sure I had to wait an extra couple hours... I spent the time working on the website and posting our new STO thread here as well as getting everyone invited into the fleet. Sure, it wasn't ideal to not be able to get the character right away and while some of my fleetmates are now a tier or almost two higher than me, I am able to get the character I wanted.

That said, I have but two requests. I would like for additional implants on head, neck, and extremities to be added over time... and laser lighting to be added to implants for an added effect. As of now the options are very bland and a LOT of them are HUGE. I want something simple that gets the point across.

But, I am overall happy with how this turned out. Thank you Cryptic for allowing me the opportunity to have my Borg character. I know you're going to get more QQ here than anything, so I wanted you to know there's people out there that are pleased with the work you're doing (quite a few in my fleet are happy with their Borg).

it seems that devs had just put borg parts from the borg NPC as options :( there are no real "liberated" cosmetics options as you can see on Seven or the child liberated Borgs...
only hope to see soon little pieces we can put like the scars system !

There's scars and there's options to appear "liberated". If you haven't seen the Voyager episode where Chakotay ends up on the planet with the small contingent of Liberated Borg... they had the exact same pieces we have in-game.

That's not to say that I don't want to see more options... I really would. But we do have options now that can suffice for now for most people.

dont you think all life time subscribers should get access to liberated borg, no matter when they purchase their life time subs.

i think its a bit off if its only available to those who purchase within a certain time frame..

if it is avaiable to every single life time subscriber now and in the future please let us know :)

so they should too, it would be utter BS if life timers purchaseing after the time stated doesnt get the option.

the last thing i want to see is other kids sucking loli pops i cant have infront of me because they cleaned their room faster than i did.
