Armor Recoloring, Please.

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Bringing this up again. If you have not implimented it yet, please do so. I like your armor designs very much Cryptic, but myself and many others would like the ability to recolor the armor instead of hiding it. Not only does it clash with your uniform intentions but the colors are an eye strain.

Again, I know that we can hide the armor and I do not want to. I want to have the option to recolor it. Thanks!

I just hide it, but if some people actually like the armor, I guess that's something that needs to be looked at. Really, I don't know why Starfleet officers would go EVERYWHERE wearing armor and no pips or uniform.

I believe the armor is color coded to who is wearing it, red for Tac, blue for Sci, etc.

Sounds about right. Before I finally got fed up with how stupid (IMO at least) they armor looked in a Star Trek game, I believe they automatically matched the color of the department of the officer.

Some mass effect 2 ish options for color customization on the armour would be nice.

Agreed. I love the armor design so I don't want to hide it and neither does my wife. We just want to recolor it because we are roleplaying as a Spec Ops unit and have very little to do with the colors of Starfleet (red, blue, yellow). I have talked to a lot of other people, not just roleplayers, who feel this should be added.

I actually had the same thought a bit ago, I don't see any reason why it would be a bad idea.

So count me as a supporter.

I have to grant my vote in favor of this idea. If you picked a series of colors for yourself and your team, then It would be great to be able to apply them to the Armor. Make it so. :)

    Thanks

Indeed. Not to mention the ability to decolor them entirely so you're not color-coded for the enemy's convenience.

You can put pips on the uniform.

Not on the armor, though, which is what the poster you quoted was talking about.

I like the armor (and the ability to show and hide it without actually re-equipping), but the ability to link the armor to the actual uniform designs would be nice too.

I agree it would be something they should look at in the future, as for the moment I think they have enough other issues that need to be fixed but I do support your idea and think it would make a lot of people happy.

I suppose I can see reason with that. I just hope it is not too long in the future or it may be seen as a way to shroud content updates by the majority of players instead of something that should have been there to begin with in such a customizable game.

In the meantime I'll keep this thread floating so the Devs have a constant reminder. :D

I agree, armor customization would be ideal as well. Perhaps setting it int he optional costume slot or creating a seperate armor costume slot to make and store the chages.

No problem solved. Don't want to hide it, want to change the colors. The armor itself looks great.. I like it better than the uniforms. But the colors gotta be controlable.

Even the ability to just change the general hue to match variant departmental colors we set would be useful.

I too would like to see customisation options for armour; some suits I've worn just don't look good with the default colour set.

Daily bump! After looking in the artbook I can see what they were thinking of doing with their preset colors on armor (hoping for it to mesh at later levels with later leveled kits) but I still think it is a bad idea. You don't have to let us recolor kits, just let us recolor armor please!

Seeing as it is now after the patch, I would think it right to give this another bump! Custom coloring please :)

Looking at the art book while I wait for the server not responding problems to go away reminded me fondly of the need for customized colors. Bumpity :)

(Great job with the weapon designs by the way).
