It's simple I do not intend to play any other character I do not have the time to level more than one character. I want that character to be the borg captain i get for my life time subscription, taking down the ability for me to do it "so at least we can play the game" is making it so i can not play the game. I know there are many other people who feel the way I do so this needs to be fixed asap or refunds need to be given. I have missed 3.5 hours of head start because of this. if there is not a resolution i am happy with before the start of the 4th hour of headstart i will be be seeking legal remedy. this is a blatant breach of contract, unacceptable, and there is no way preference should be given to a group of people who have payed $5-10 for a preorder over those who have payed 240.00.
now i know some people are going to be ****ed off at this post but honestly I don't really care. i payed for a product said purchase is a legally binding contract here in the lovely USA, and at this very moment Cryptic and Atari are in will full breach of the contract. if it had been any situation other than choosing to disable access to it, they might be able to claim some defense but once deactivated it's a will full breach.

Actually, it's not a willful breach of contract, and although I have not read the terms of service, I would not be surprised if the "fine print" stipulates certain caveats. Also, people have no idea just how much time, money and trouble go into initiating a legal action, whether or not you have any grounds for it. In any case, I'd give Cryptic a bit of time before you start sounding your legal tizzy. They know about the issue, it's not a willful issue, it's a technical one, which they have acknowledged, and are currently attempting to rectify.
Quills
Okay, everyone else is whining about the same thing. Frankly, no one else gets their bonuses at all until the 2nd. So while I will be annoyed if I have to wait for my Borg (fellow lifetimer), it's not like we're getting a worse deal than anyone else. The Trills can't get their main toon til the 2nd either.
That being said, I'd really rather not wait, so hopefully it's resolved soon.
As for "breach of contract," you may wish to read the disclaimer before you purchase:
We make no explicit or implicit warranties on the service period of the game.
Don't try to lawyer a company cause you're upset, it's never a good idea.
They're having technical problems, give them time.
Okay, so we have fixed the problem and it should be available again to those that have it with the following gotchas:
You need to restart the game client and log back in to see it. You should no longer have to make the trash character and buy it, it will just be unlocked and ready.
If you purchased a lifetime subscription in the last 24 hours your account hasn't been fixed. You can either put in a ticket so we manually fix your account or just wait 24 hours and it will be automatically fixed.
I think the point is that they obviously have a TRIBBLE load of lifers, it seems the bulk of them only want to play Borg, and only bought lifer to get Borg... so having the server up at all isn't a consolation prize as those people don't have a reason to be part of early access without it.
I'm more personally concerned that for some reason they aren't seeing my account as a lifer - my sub page shows it (and has for a month), but I don't have all my character slots either.
I have lifetime sub, and have logged out and back in twice, tried to make new char, nothing.
Logged in my other char, still no liberated borg in c-store either.
WHERE IS MY BORG?!?
It works for me now..
Log out and create a new Character. "There will be a Liberated Borg Human" in the middle of the list... after Bolian and above Saurian...
If it is fixed, why are the zone channels flooded with people still saying they have the wrong number of character slots, and no borg after restarting the client many times?

Same issue here, and well with that many people having problems. They will probably also be overflooded with tickets, so guessing I won't get a response there soon either.
No offense really, but erm.. you kinda get what you pay for? I mean, first of all, you're paying 190.00 dollars more than I am for something that is quite frankly a simple graphical aestetic. If you don't have the patience or time to be creative enough with their detailed character creation interface, and make your own Borg or Cyborg-like creature, then too bad, so sad, but you lose.
Aside from that, you're also getting unlimitted "lifetime" access. Meanwhile I have to pay the 14.99 (or whatever) fee per month to play. So your one-time fee has granted you some graphical perk. Meh, so what?
Frankly, since I plan on playing this for a lot longer than I doubt you will and because in two years I will have paid $140.00 more than you have, and further contributed financially to the overall game, I don't really want to hear your paltry complaints.
If you think of it actually, in a way, improvements, modifications, storyline enhancements etc., will be technically coming out of my pockets, and the pockets of the other regular subscribers, who have chosen to subscribe over-time... not yours. Nope... you get to play for free whenever, and however much you want, with your little graphical aestetic.
So frankly, I don't really want to hear about your problems. Just be quiet now and be thankful to us, the regular subscribers that you will even have a game to play.

What? Thanks for players like the lifers, the providers have been given HUGE up-front funds before launch day(infact the retail versions I bought had to be fully prepaid, and were weeks ago) to help establish infrastructure and ramp up staffing for launch (as with all MMO's - and like those MMO's will trim staff down a few months after launch)
And as for aesthetics - there is also a unique Borg ground skill
Now if you don't need the Borg, and are not waiting on it to enjoy the game as many people here are... why come here and harass other players and go enjoy your game-time..
Stop embarrassing genetics, evolution, and all things created in what may be god(s) image... You are obsolete...

The point was, and remains the same... and since you want to role-play a Borg should be able to do the simple math in your head, the so called "Lifers" paying their up front funds will actually be contributing less to the game in the long run...I can do the math for you if you like, it's simple addition really.
$240 - one time subscription "for life"
Done
49.99 and 14.99 per month.
1st year = 214.88
2nd year = 179.88
3rd year = 179.88
4th year = 179.88
etc...
The first two years alone, I've paid $150 more than you lifers have. That goes up again the next year, and the year after, ad infinitum.
And the second point is that I'm stuck at work, while the rest of you are playing. And since you guys feel that it's okay to harass the devs about your Borg, then I'm harassing you about the harassing, which I feel is rediculous.

I took PTO today to play the game - as a borg - with no interest in another race until my joined trill which I bought understanding it won't be there for a few days... I also have no interest in burning myself out on the starter content by rolling a few characters that are not the one I want to play. (I may roll another faction some day, but thats not what I wanted now, paid to do now, or planned to do now)
Additionally - the group of people I am playing with are now stuck as well. They either play ahead without me and only I lose out, we all wait back until I get my Borg, or I play something I don't want to play now and when my borg is available I can start over while they are now off on other missions and again either leave me behind or get stuck waiting for me.
Also many people I know have taken time off to play. If they had just flagged the accounts rather then the C-Store I wouldn't have tossed a vacation day out the window. Infact, I probably would have waited for the actual launch day and played with other friends when ALL of my goodies should be available.
I paid them 240 dollars to put the Borg on my account.
Now I am supposed to jump through hoops? To hell with that!
What has been done is called False Advertising, they said it would be available at 10am it was not. That is enough grounds to dispute your credit bill, and not have to pay for the lifetime.
still WAITING FOR MY BORG MY TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLAR BORG
Same here, my borg option still is not appearing. I litrally logged in as ther servers went live today and been relogging in and out trying to get it to appear. Orginally 2 options appeared in my C-Store special section for a borg Fed and Klingon Char but you couldn't click on them or anything as both were grayed out.
This coupled with the fact that STEAM doesn't look like their going to release the pre-order bonus codes till the 2nd makes me wonder what was the point of haveing an early start?
* creating a junk character and using it to access the C-Store. You should see the borg unlock available in the ulockables section. Double-click to activate.
If it still doesn't work or you don't see the unlock them the devs have asked you to please submit a CS ticket so they can manually fix the issue.

While I think you could have stated the above better....
I agree with the "$240 Borg" comment... They dangled that in front of the lifers knowing it would draw more in.. It's just like tossing a TRIBBLE toy into the happy meal or box of cheap cereal... People are attracted for the prize.

Done what they asked... since then they announced globally that the store was no longer needed and we just had to get to the creator to make it... Either way it doesn't work and I've already got two issues in...
One for my borg, one for my character slots.. I've had them in since the game launched and still not even gotten "we are aware of the issue and are investigating" - at this point they are still spamming it works so I doubt they acknowledge there is a problem..

Don't forget lifetime attracts a lot more players, me included. I do not play P2P games but I do enjoy B2P ones (Buy to play), so lifetime is really appealing to us B2P people, which is also why I have lifetime on Lotro.
"Alright we know you paid 240 dollars, but we are going to need you do do some work to get your Borg and character slots."
You think "Hmm, okay what do I need to do, post in a thread or something?"
They respond, "Oh no! We need you to act like it is still BETA and report bugs to us en masse! We don't have time to be bothered with FIXING OUR GAME."
If you're still having issues with a Lifetime Sub and no Playable Borg access, you need to post in this thread so the developers know they need to look at your account...

WRONG. I have done all that, and I STILL have 2 slots and no borg option
its.
Not.
Just read any of the 14+ pages of the thread you linked.
Well hopefully soon I'll be able to get into the game...
