Given how important BO are to us, losing green ones is pretty serious. I'm hearing about folks losing blue ones too, which is even grimmer.
I would really like to hear some sort of dev acknowledgement that this is happening. All I've seen so far is being told to look in the assignment window. They ain't there. If they still think that it is just us being stupid, this could go on for a long time.
Same here. Never got my BO from "Stranded in Space" (SS Azura) or "Patrol the Vulcan Sector". Selected them, but they never showed up in Assignments or anywhere else. Just, gone.
Is Cryptic seriously going to flip us off by not replacing the BOs we flat out earned, and only didn't receive due to THEIR bugs?

Yep... at least that is what their ingame ticket say... They are aware of the issue, but won't replace the missing officers...
Yes I lost a BO too and one guy has lost 3 in a row...
How could such a bug end up to a live game? It certainly gimps you pretty good, especially with the attitude "that we are not gona compensate anything"...
So many scattered threads on this, so I'll just post again. I've lost 2, both engineers for me, one green. I got my first post-tutorial BO fine (science), but the next mission and the Lt.6 "new officer" reward both went missing, neither in my list of officers or under assignments.
If you turn in your mission while still in the "battle map"/mission map then they seem not to show up.
Leaving map and returning to sector space and then handing in mission seems to work and they show up.
So when the reward screen pops up at end of mission just close it and it should become a flashing bar on right of screen. Then leave the map and re-open the reward box or if its gone hail starfleet and a tick icon should be next to the quest giver that you completed mission for.

This is not true, I've done my turn ins for Azura and the random "you have a new consignment" both in sector space. Neither showed up. I've been running around for 6 ranks without a tachyon beam/science officer, it is incredibly annoying.
And the fact that they aren't going to recompense us for this also sucks. The Azura BO is critical to game advancement, it finishes the 3 basic BO's you need at the start and anyone who didn't get a BO becaus eof this bug should be given a free one, it's very easy to check and see if we completed the quest, and should be easy to see if we actually got the BO in the database. Not compensating us is just a sign of laziness.
Worse it makes the game feel sloppy, and can/will result in early players thinking the game is worse than it is because basic stuff like this doesn't work. Despite the fact that this was *tested* in Beta and until the last two weeks was working and has been heavily bug reported. This needs to get fixed ASAP.
I've stopped playing the game. So far I've lost out on two earned officers in missions, and a purchased BO at the Starbase.
If they indeed will not be reimbursing our lost BOs, I'm going to have a serious problem with this game... this is the worst bug I've ever seen in an MMO launch title.

I think I'll do the same. Want to get to level 6 first to unlock the Klingon slot, then I'll take a break until Cryptic can fix their shoddy code.
::starts to have buyer's remorse regarding that STO Lifetime subscription::
Same deal for me. I've lost all awarded officers apart from the first tutorial one. I had to buy the other three I have at the moment. I lost 2 blues and 3 greens in open beta. I've tried turning the missions in in sector space, on the ground and on my bridge. None of this works.
It's not just officers by the way. My brother lost a blue engine reward in beta and just 30 minutes ago I lost a MkII armour reward.
Reminds me of Champion's mail system, where you would send items, but they'd vanish.
All it needs is to have a sanity check to make sure your reward ends up where it is supposed to be, before the quest is considered complete. Don't understand why it wouldn't do that.
I'm nervous about continuing playing before it is fixed, in case I seriously gimp myself by missing out on rare bridge officers. Items we grow out of, but bridge officers grow with you.
I've submitted a ticket - if the answer I get back is "sorry but we're not going to give them to you, but we'll fix it", I will not be buying a subscription to this game.
Not to sound like a negative Nancy, but we spend our valued time in this game and collect rewards. If we have to spend 2x the amount of time to reclaim them due to a bug, I can't see why I would want to waste anymore time completing missions with the possibility of another major bug occurring.

To be honest, hoping for a replaced BO is a bit optimistic since there's probably no easy way to tell who's lost an officer, what type, and what skills they had. It would either take an extremely long time to fix it on their end unless they went on your word which would mean everyone could requisition free officers just because they said they never got theirs.
However, I'd appreciate being able to ask for an amount of credits to purchase a new officer from requisitions at a star base. Maybe up to a certain amount to cover the cost for 2 at the most.
Then it would seem more like they're saying "We're aware of the problem and we're fixing it, here's something for the trouble" rather than "We'll fix it."

I picked a Trill science officer as my reward for the SS Azura, but she never turned up, alas.
Submitted it to a GM via the Ticket manager.
Their response was, "We know about it... but your not gonna get a replacement....."
damnit cause that just happenned to me....and it was a KLINGON bridge officer for the fed side...I was incredibly stoked lol.
Not in inventory or assignment page. Simply never turned up. Logging out and back didn't help either.

Did they take a wrong turn or something?.
And just the one that happened to get through had rubbish skills. Figures...
BO dispaearing all over the shop.
"Should" being the operative word. Fact is, they don't.
