Armor for ship not adding up correctly or is there a CAP ?.

So I've got Victorium Alloy MK VI armor that give's me 10% to kinetic & 10% All Energy Damage Resistance...

I've got 3 piece's Victorium Alloy MK VI armor. For the Engineer's consule's for use on my ship.

I've also got 20% resistance to Plasma Damage from my Shield's.

So that should add up to 50% Plasma Damage Resistance
30% Kinetic Damage Resistance
30% All other Damage Resistance.

Except Fire , Radiation , Toxic , Cold , Psionic & Physical.

When I, look into my Starship's Status Box

It list's my Damage Resistance as down the line at 22.9%.....

I'm wondering if 22.9% Damage Resistance is the Cap for Armor ?.

Or is there some sorta decay to armor's effectiveness over time ?.

Or is the system not taking in count of my 3rd Piece of Armor ?.

    There probably isn't a cap, it is just diminishing returns. If you put on one armor piece at a time, you will see it doesn't add up to what it should for just those pieces. In fact even a single piece suffers from diminished returns for some reason. I used 2 of those 10% pieces and got 16%, not 20%.

    The simple answer is, you can't just add up your resistances and get the right answer.

    any items which effect the same atribute on a ship will cause a diminishing return. done deliberatly to ensure there no chance of someone ever becomming near immune to a weapon type.

    same with consoles that increase weapon damage as if everythin stacked perfectly then at high levels weapons would be doing insane damage.
