Also running my STO on win 7 pro 64bit and have no issues at all. I can not imagine how the game is deleting a data partition especially as it has no access to do so. You sure its not a faulty HDD ?
Me too running Win7 64bit and no problem so far. By the way i only have 2 partitions and some networkdrives attached. Drives C, D, E, F, W, and some others.
I also use Win7 64bit to play STO, and I've lost no data whatsoever. All my partitions are still alive and well.
Sounds a little weird to me, the game deleting a whole partition...
Both my wife and I run Win 7 64 and have no problems ... I don't believe STO caused your partition deletion. I would be more inclined to believe a hardware failure or virus is the cause.
Definitely not windows 7. As others have said you have a bad hard drive or a virus. I'd lean more towards getting a new HD. Its astounding what people blame computer problems on.
running it on 2 different Win 7 home premium 64 machines, one desktop, one laptop, no issues (steam did take a dump on me, but that's a steam issue...)
me too win 7 64 bit no issues runs great much faster then vista 64 less then a week to go cant wiat on vacation that week ps my clan is taking apps mp me or tfo killswitch must be 18 or older
Windows 7 x64 HP here too. Absolutely no problems, and I also have data partition. Faulty driver, bad blocks, virus or your own mistake is probably the case.
Yeah no issues with 64 bit Win7 and this game. Never heard of a game causing deletions of other software either. You have a virus or some hardware issues for sure methinks.
It is my understanding that the game is even installed under the user directory instead of "Program Files" so it will not need elevated permissions when patching. I am running the game under Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and have encountered no problems with the game or my system that weren't due to ATI video card drivers.
Not saying it's windows 7's problem i'm just saying what happened. STO is defiantly the trigger. doubt this will happen on anyone elses just saying it happened to me.
I can think of only two probably causes to your experience.
1.) Hardware failure. PC components DO fail, often times in unexpected ways. For example I had just told a friend I needed to reboot my system to swap from Ubuntu to XP. As soon as I was about to select which OS to boot into the main memory module, a 1gb module decided to short out. Result was 20 minutes of troubleshooting and falling back on a 128mb stick from an earlier upgrade. Also had a power supply work fine one day, then the next morning make angry buzzing sounds blowing a UPS, surge strip, and circuit breaker...
You could try checking the cables to see if they're properly connected, a loose power or data cable could cause the drive to not be detected or spin up.
2.) If its a networked drive then the host system for the network drive is not responding, either due to a faulty network cable, LAN card, failed login, or bad drive mapping. Or the drive/data might not be shared any longer.

Sorry to hear that....but I have been running Win 7 64 also and have not had this problem!!
SOunds like u have a virus.
QQ elsewhere?
Sure your Mum/Wife/husband did not find your all your Pron and delete it?
I've seen apps destroy windows before when uninstalled, but nothing like what you propose. Sorry mate, but STO isn't the culprit here.
Running Windows 7 64 Pro, no problems here.
