I have just cancelled my pre-order as I refuse to pay money for something that is broken. I have been on beta for a week and i think I have managed about 2 hours game time due to not being able to log in. I had this TRIBBLE with champions online and wasted my free months gameplay waiting for the game to be fixed. I got no help from cryptic what so ever and quite frankly I think they are rude for not replying or sending pre scripted replies to queries from paying customers. I was looking forward to this game but now have decided to continue with AION as at least I can log in.

    Overall, a complete joke

First off, I think I speak for most when I say "bye!"

I have been waiting years...YEARS! to play your game. Thank you for sending me a beta key, but, it took me three day's to download and then another half a day for the patch. Once I finally got to the engage button, I was so happy and then I got a fatal error message. I tried to reinstall the game. It was then that the patch became a never ending nightmare. Now I am out of time. I will not be able to try your game. I will not be spending any money on such an unstable and untested product. after all if you were going to buy a car wouldn't you test drive it first.

Computer software, specificly games do not tend to give free trials, this was a BETA TEST, not a free trial, in betas things can and will go wrong. taking the impressions of how the game will be from a test is silly. more over considering the massive amount of players that have had no problems, blaming the game for patch problems on your rig is childish, it is probably some settings with your own computer that is causing your problems.

stating you don't want to spend money on a "untested product" in the middle of a beta TEST period is even more idiotic, this is the test period. if you can not see this then we as a community do not want you here anyhow, so again ... "bye"

As someone I once knew once said

99% of problems are end-user problems.

I agree 100% with your statement. Therefor it is the providers responsibility to make this game more user friendly.

That has to be the stupidest logic i've ever encountered. Do you want cryptic to hold your hand while you walk across the street?

how much more user friendly can they get!?

they have a slider under video that says "recommended" that it defaults to, you need not even see the advanced settings
they have a launcher that patches the game for you, you do not have to manually patch the game, if it isn't autopatching then something is wrong with YOUR computer, you want them to come to your house and personally install the game for you?
it stores your user name so all you have to do is type your password

the only thing more they could do for you is PLAY the game for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not a demo or a trial. It's a beta. Have fun on the neverending search for the perfect, bug free computer game, though.

Yes I do. That is exactly what I am looking for. If I'm a cryptic exec then I realize in order to compete in this competitive market there will need to be some hand holding. This game will not survive without new blood. Meaning those that have never played a MMO before in their life. Thank god your not running my company.

World of Warcraft does it, and they have 14 million subscribers.

WoW doesn't have 14 million subs, in actual fact they are losing vast amounts of subs every week because of there incredible money grabbing tactics, couple that with a 18 month expansion roll out. Right now, WoTLK has been out quite a while now, the new expansion "Cataclysm" is not due until much later this year providing it isn't delayed, people are tired of the same content, same zones, same classes so around times like this, players tend to go on extended break.

This is why releasing MMos now is a good thing, there are quite a few MMos coming out including STo which can capitalise on these random sub potential.

With ignorant attitudes like that, I'm glad you're leaving so I don't have to see you ranting your TRIBBLE in zone chat.

You're obviously childish and needy for attention. If it meant that much to you, then why would you waste your time coming here to tell us all you're leaving. I don't care if you leave, and I don't care to see you whining about it like a 12 year old snot nosed little girl. If you're going to leave then get out. I'll be happily playing in headstart while you go on to another game forum somewhere and complain about that game too.

yea you need to change your tampoon, I never said at anypoint I was leaving STO on that statement, I just stated that FF14 will be the best MMO out there, and second if you knew FF14 has oh, A YESR before it's out officially. Don't bash unless you know your facts. On the contrary I feel you're, " whining about it like a 12 year old snot nosed little girl".....

Look at the tech forums in World of Warcraft.

    http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=11110&sid=1

They had how many years to make the game hold everyone's hand? Since November 23, 2004: 5 years, 2 months. (EDIT: My math has been corrected)

They made the game even playable on some TRIBBLE laptop made ten years ago and yet people still complain and have issues with the game. It is true, 99% of all errors are user end. I learned this the hard way while working at tech shops for years. People are naturally stupid on things they assume they know about.

This forum is here to help people with their issues and raise awareness on them, just like every other MMO.

Also, we as players, don't care when people leave. We also don't care for the spam on our chat channels of complaining. Oh and what we don't care for the most of all? People talking about World of Warcraft: we left that game for a reason, no need to remind us how much we ended up hating it after giving it years of our lives.

I'm hoping its not going to turn out like the 'other'...boy did that one suck, you know what I'm talking about. I loved the setting, the characters especially Taru Taru, but forced grouping and practically 0% solo-able content did it for me, most of the upper levels was spent trying to get a group together to farm XP.
