What is wrong with autofire in ground combat?

I may have missed this but I had auto fire enabled in ground combat before the 1/20 patch and now I can't mouse click the basic attack any longer, no will it let me remove auto fire from the skill. (right click) I also don't see any auto fire options for ground combat anywhere in the options menu. The only way I can get this to work is by hitting the number the skill is on in the hotbar. :mad:

    I've been having the same trouble with it in space. CNTRL click might turn it off for you. Try that.
    I would still like to have autofire though.

    What a crippling bug. I basically don't want to play any ground missions anymore. Fix this bug! It was working all the way through open beta!

    Everyone make sure to submit a bug report for it!

    Agreed. Between MOAR SPACEBAR in space and MOAR 1,2,3 on the ground, I may end up suing Cryptic for my damaged keyboard and fingers! Just kidding...had to make fun of all the trolls threatening to sue over this silly game :P. In reality, even if they do go to court they'll never get a dime because Cryptic will end up bankrupt if they can't fix this game's stablility and soon.

    Well, in one of the patch notes, is specifically said they removed ground auto fire. Think that is one of stupidest simple mistakes they could have done. I can understand removing auto fire on special abilities, the secondary expose/exploit power, but the basic fire? I thought auto was pretty standard on basic attack in MMOs by now. Cryptic just wants to be different or something.

    Oh, and it DOES NOT add any interaction or fun have to smash 1 all the time to fire your basic attack. Timing abilities, yes, but not that basic attack.

    I suspect auto-fire was removed because some people had problems with it. Having to keep mashing my keyboard to shoot is getting tedious.

    pretty shure it was removed due to the fact that it was interfearing with your other skillls making you have to mash the button in order to have a chance for the power to actually go off.

    My thoughts exactly... they need to implement a basic "queue" for skills (like every other MMO and RPG in the universe)..

    Personally, I am glad auto fire is off for ground missions. It's nice to have when all your doing shooting from a distance, but let two or three bady's get close and it becomes a pain in the TRIBBLE.

    unlink special abilities from shooting and there we go. Now its either or. I'd also rather have longer lasting special abilities but on a longer cooldown, i hate to reactivate focus fire and other specials every couple of seconds.

    I've been having this issue as well, and I thought maybe it was just a bug...I'll double check the notes in a bit and see (although, the latest notes are for the 23rd I think, and it seemed it was working after that /shrug). I do agree, it was nice when I was playing in the open beta to have the auto fire on the ground...so much better to have it then to wonder why something isn't going down like you remember it used to! lol

    I did the next best thing and switched to an auto target weapon. At least I don't have to hunt with my mouse for a target anymore. At least it is some consolation. Not much, but some.
