Ok i have a nvidia geforce 8400gs graphics card and i updated it with the newest drivers on the website and when i play STO and get into earth spacestation and walk three to four steps the game will crash and say, FATAL ERROR: The graphics device or driver encountered an unrecoverable internal error and must exit. please restart the application or computer.

WTF!!! i was just playin this game last night with no problems, im thinking it might be too chaotic in earth space but im not sure. any help would be appreciated.

Same thing happened to me. There was a change with a patch. Caused my video drivers to blue screen me out. everytime i restart now i am in this loop of crash. It looks pretty bad. I am attempting different drivers just to get my computer back to normal. ... if someone finds a solution to this please let me know.

It looks like my video card is fried. Lines down the screen. Bios has characters where letters were supposed to be. some way or how. i did not think it would be possible from a software crash.

Gameclient stopped responding several times. I was able to boot up and try again. changed settings to low. flew about 10 feet and it happened again

    Nvidia 8800 gts

I get this problem once and a while however my system normally recovers without crashing the game. Beta drivers can sometimes be unstable, keep that mind when installing them. Also when updating Nvidia drivers clean out your previous driver, it should come with a clean install program when you update manually.

AGGGGHHH i get the same thing!!! it also came with season 4 i noticed! i did some detective work on the web and it 'claims' it is caused by old registy factors so i uninstalled the game, got myself a disk cleaner to wipe old reg' from the hard drive.......
... and it worked for a while but its back again!!! i too use geforce.

    *minimum system requirements are:

    ■OS: Windows XP SP2/ Windows Vista/Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit)
    ■CPU: Intel dual-core 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 + 3800
    ■Memory: 1GB RAM or Better
■Video:ATI Radeon X1800 or NVIDIA GeForce 7950 or better
    ■Sound: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Soundcard
    ■DirectX: Version 9.0c or Higher
    ■HDD: 10GB Free Disk Space
    ■Network: Broadband Required

I think a recommended is a GeForce 9200, or something along that line. It may very well be the new minimum post-S4, methinks, though. :p
