As of last week my graphics have been nice and my gameplay has been slow and laggy but since the update the gameplay is great, fast and responses and the graphics looks terrible. I have used both drivers for the Nvidia card but there is no change. Is there anything else I can do to improve the way the game looks?

Ouch... if the new drivers don't work for you... check to see how many popped capacitors you have on the card. Sounds like you may have an issue.
Edit: Scratch that... you can't, it's a laptop.
That card isn't going to do much for this here game. It's an on-board card. On-board cards are not meant to play games... true there are some laptops that are designed for gaming but yours is not. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it will play at half resolution.
lol thats what i figured.... well i guess its time to upgrade...sweet! new toys!
edit: not a laptop, desk top
Thank you so very much I disabled the half resolution and it seem back to normal.
I have a similar system, except mine is a Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX.
Suggest doing exactly as follows to correct your situation.
1. Install or upgrade to the Nvidia Graphics Driver 197.16 for notebooks.
2. Reset all graphics to default in the game.
3. Change the half resolution setting to off.
4. Set the slider bar for graphics in the basic mode, to 3/4 the way (one less than all for quality).
This should help you out. Keep in mind, your system may run a bit on the warm side, so keep those vents for the processor and GPU free from obstructions. This worked for me after I mistakenly cranked everything to HIGH or Very High (unfortunately our 256 Meg cards can't handle this much...)
Hope this helps.
