Agreed. I have yet to get 5 seconds into the game. Any tips for staying connected?

Yeah I know its BETA, but this TRIBBLE is going on for more than 24 hours now... And there was a patch 11 hours ago... Fix that darn login server already.. grrr .

Same thing for me. At this point, I've told all my friends that were interested in the game to just hold off, because here we are within a few weeks to live, and the Beta isn't even playable for more than a few minutes. It's impossible to Beta a game when the game crashes to the login screen constantly.

This didn't start happened until the morning of the 20th. It was fine from the opening of open beta until then. So whatever you all did at Cryptic the night of the 19th, undo that, because thats when everyone having this problem correlates the time to.

    It's not a driver issue.
    It's not an antivirus issue.
    It's not a temperature issue.
It's a STO/Cryptic coding issue that is a total showstopper.

Rant over, now please fix the game so it can be tested properly before live comes and you have a hundred thousand Trekkies that are not amused and beaming to your front door.

Few weeks to live? Early start is 29, Feb 2 is release... Its way closer which makes it even worse... Cryptic you guys gotta do a better job. Imagine how many people you turned away already with all these disconnects... Hire some worthy engineer who knows what he is doing instead of just being on your payroll...

They have already said they are adding new hardware to their servers to fix capacity and load issues. If youa re getting disconnects as bad as you say, then the problem lies on your end, not cryptics. Possible a firewall/router problem or isp problem.

Your right. Yesterday as most peoples complain centers around is when the problem started and all of us with dif rigs, dif a/v software/ dif ISP all of a sudden yesterday decided to have server not responding issues.

Zero packet loss, signals well were they should be and I can tracert with absolutely zero routing problems (though some have said thay have bad hops I have none)

Funny how some tracerts died once they hit a server that is second to last in the hops and it's name is Cryptic-1.something.something. So yeah, it must be everyone else's issue.

Can you explain to me how it would be one of those issues you described if the game worked fine for a week and then all of a sudden on the 20th and today it's unplayable. What you're saying makes no sense whatsoever and sounds defensive like Cryptic couldn't have done anything wrong. We all know that issues with firewalls (I don't run one) and routers, give you problems from the get go, until you fix them.

Anyways, I'd love to hear more about this from you.

You have not idea what you talking about... Its one of the routers on Cryptic's side that makes our connections die. I am using internet non stop, there is no interruptions for streaming music or anything else. Only the game dies...

Also When I tried to access forums right after disconnect its not loading either... And after about 2 minutes I can log in again.

Where you guys are? Maybe its all related to some router on their side that processes connections from US Eastern Coast or something? I mean I am not seeing ppl going berserk which means it happens only to a selective number of people.

    I am in US, VA.

    Comcast user from Lansing, MI

I've been reading more and more that its an issue between Comcast and Cryptic but I can't verify any of that. I just want to keep the issue up until a moderator can explain what is going on and what they're doing about it.

Does your ISP use 'trafic management'....?

I had the same problems as you guys, (http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=69727), which were being caused by my ISP.

I did mess with the Proxy settings in theLauncher Options menu, which gave me some sucess... not perfect but better

    Good Luck

Incorrect. This is a new issue that started about 5 days ago. Before that there were infrequent drop outs, rubber banding, etc. But ever since the login issues started, this has gone hand in hand with it and made the game untestable.

Every trace route I run the single bottle necks or just dies at savvis.net in New Your and Boston. Boston where the servers are. This has been happening to me for three days. Other have had it for 5+ days.

I guess since Cryptic feels they don't need Comcast users in their player base by ignoring this issue, Comcast users should not buy this game to say FU back to Cryptic.

The thing that worrys me the most is Cryptics lack of comunication  They are quick and happy to be sticking get a life time deal junk down our throats but nothing when it comes down to solving this or even giving us updates on the situation.

    Run a trace route.

Start ---> Run ----> Type in 'Command' ----> At the prompt type tracert www.startrekonline.com.

Watch where your single crashes from low double digits to triple digits / times out.

I had no problems until last night when the new patch went in. Since then I have gotten every problem with connection that has been reported. Cryptic say that it is the amount opf people playing that exceede what they planned so they are getting more servers to fix the problem. But it is mid-day in the US and most of the US population is either at work or School, what is going to happen when they get off work or school and want to play? will it get worse?

I manage to load from the UK but when I'm in I have serious issues...

Whilst typing this I'm watching my character who has just left space dock fall up and down up and down in space. Its giving me a headache and is toally unplayable. This will shortly be followed by a disconnect when it finally gives up.

Getting a lot of lag and disconnecting when it get late night here, Athens Greece. Seems when the US players start logging in I get shafted out of the server. Tried the EU and US proxy didn't do the slightest of difference.

Fix the connection issue with the server!
