New driver available.

In the bottom left corner of character and login screens I get a message saying that there are newer drivers available for my video card. I turned it off with the launcher but it still shows up on those screens. I'm pretty sure there isn't a newer driver because I went and downloaded the newest drivers. My computer is only a few months old and still under warranty and Dell assures me that the ones I downloaded and installed are the newest drivers.

The game runs great and the the message is only a minor annoyance, I was just wondering if anyone else was getting the message or had advice other than asking Dell about newer drivers.

My advice would be to download the appropriate drivers from:

    www.nvidia.com

    or

    game.amd.com

depending on if you have an Nvidia card or an ATI card

Thanks! I went to Nvidia and didn't see one on the list but it gave me the option of checking my computer and then if found an optional update. Installing that took the message away.

Not sure if it made a noticable difference to the performance since like many others I'm getting server busy, but now there is no annoying message. Thanks again.

In some cases, Dell requires you to download all drivers specifically from them and NOT from the vendors like Nvidia. I know a friend of mine had troubles whenever he downloaded the video drivers directly from Nvidia but never when he got them through Dell.

Same happened to me. Nothing new under 880GT, but when I did a system scan it directed me toward 195.62 which was put up a few months ago or something.

I'm hoping this fixes my heat issues!

might wanna see about cracking the lid open on the 8800gt and cleaning the fan, hair and what not can cause that, also some artic silver 5 to recoat the gpu can help lower heat. used to have to do that every 6 months or so.
