I am having the same problem. Running XPx64 with Realtek HD Audio. Game seems to recognize the sound device, but no game sounds whatsoever.

I have the same problem. I'm also running XP64 with an onboard RealTek HD audio chipset (evga 680i motherboard).

I installed the drivers from Realtek website. I'm not sure if you are talking about the same ones. Do you have the url where you downloaded the drivers from?
    thanks

Both my friend and I have the same issue, with the same setup quoted above. We got on a conference call last night with a friend of ours who is much more PC tach saavy than we are to help us figure out the problem. After many hours of driver deletions, cleanups, reinstalls, updates to both the ATI 4800 gx card and the Realtek audio (and even motherboard), we still have no sound. We both play other online games, and have not had any sound issues (we re-checked the other games after the above actions and those games still play with no sound issues). I submitted bug reports in game in STO for this sound issue but have not received any reponses. The gx look fine on our PCs, however there is no sound in any part of the game, nor when we load in the game. We would love to find a fix for this. Thanks

ive been having the same problem, Winxp 64bit as well, with onboard sound (realtek HD audio. no sound in STO at all.

EDIT : i have update all of my drivers, with no resolve.

very disappointing. i have sound in ANY other game i have installed (60+ games).

Note to Devs: if its not fixed before beta is over, i will cancel my colletors edition preorder and lifetime subscription.

Remember that STO is not a 64 bit app. The launch code resolved my No Sound issue under WXPx64 in Beta. I will continue to use this workaround as it likely the only one which will ever be offered (and it works...:) .
