When trying to log in now after having not played most of the day. I started the launcher hit engage got to loading and then it said that error. Now when I go to log back in I get stuck at Disconnected From The Account Server. This is at 8:50. I was able to play earlier and have tried turning off my firewall completely. This has been a common problem and I'd be curious if it's known by the Dev team.
/edit - Upon reloading the software it is now frozen at "Connecting to the Login Server"
I still can't get in 20 minutes later trying once every 5 minutes. I'm gonna reboot my system and try again. If not I'll give up for the night and chalk it up to bad luck and the fact that it's a Beta test. had similar problems when they were testing Champions. It could very well be their debugging software.
Got on briefly, but didn't even make it to a map. Done all the standard trouble shooting. C'mon Cryptic, help us out as soon as you can. loving the game so far.
I'm in the same situation but have been like this for the past 3 days. I have been very anxious to test this game, and possibly buy this. How ever, if things continue I will definately save my cash for another game.

I get where you're coming from, but that isn't helping them fix the game. I try to, seeing as it IS a beta, as all the sycophants will scream at you, keep an open mind to these things. See me during the head start and my attitude might be a good bit different.

Well in order to be in head start requires to purchase the game, and I cannot whole heartedly buy a game unless I feel confident that it will be a good product and has a good developing team. 2 recent games have left bad taste in my mouth for going away from my "standard". First game was CO, and the second was Call of Duty: MW2 for PC.
i was playing just before the servers went down for that hour and was disconnected when they were brought down unexpectedly. I was able to get to the loading Sol System screen and the bar wouldn't fill all the way. Then after a few tries it wouldn't even connect to the login server or retrieve my character list. I created a ticket so hopefully it fixes soon.

Lordmunky is still having problems getting back into the game. He was fine through tutorial last night but after the patch was unable to get back into Sol. He tried again today and still is unable to get in. I am having him uninstall the game and reinstall hoping that might me the issue. If not, hope that it is cleared up soon. By the way, I am aware of the FULL SERVER issue at the moment and that is not the problem.

Ok, just talked to Lordmunky and he said that he uninstalled the client and redownloaded and reinstalled. He had the same result. He then created a new character. He can get through the tutorial just fine but when he attmepts to load into the Sol system he times out. What do we need to do to get this working? He pre-ordered the game watching me and his brother playing Open Beta but is not considering cancelling.
That is not related. The servers have been down for about 40 or minutes. That is the message you get when servers are down so don't sweat it. Expected uptime per the announcement page is around 7:45 PM PST by the way..
Yeah I spent all day trying to get in game only to receive that same message "Disconnected form account server" and when ever I do get in as soon as I try to zone to another area I get disconnected. Two days ago I was playing fine and considered the game to be going in the right track (aside from still being a ship on my away missions every now and then), but now I am starting to get concerned that this is just like every other buggy video game, I do know that this is still beta but times running out get it together guys help us out or at least let us know that you are aware.
I am seeing this issue and similar issues in other threads . Makes me nervous even if this IS just beta. Getting close to launch and not many working solutions.
I found a possible work around for those having trouble getting hung up while changing from one instance to another. These people were timing out on map/instance change and then could not get past the "retrieving maps" screen on subsequent logins. What one person tried was starting the game in "safe mode", going to the sector map or system map, then logging off and back on in normal mode. To get to "safe mode" you need to open the launcher. At the top under OPTIONS you will see a check box for "safe mode". Check that and launch the game as you normally would. You should not have to change any other options. Again, once you get into the game make sure to log off and uncheck the safe mode box and relog onto the game.
