This is really a load of crud. I've been trying to download the Open Beta file since the 11th. And every time there is something wrong with the download. Can I please get some help from a dev or whoever? This is so stupid when the answer is "try downloading again" when it takes 6-12 hours every time I try. I've tried downloading from FilePlanet and FileShack several times.

File planet may be your problem, I know that was mine. There's an application you can download that will get it straight from Cryptic, and it worked great for me.

Same here... I used the straight from Cryptic DLer.

I even had to send the sound.hogg to a friend that used one of the other DLers cause it didn't work.

When I tried to download from file planet, I had issues. Try downloading from cryptic's site. when it's downloading, click on the desktop, (so the downloader isn't selected and you accidentally end the download by pressing spacebar to wake the computer up. I did that a couple of times...) I know it takes a while, but you will know when you have a successful full download because you will recieve an option to install when it finishes. If that doesn't work, you can go to http://games.on.net/file/31597/Star_Trek_Online_Open_Beta_Full_Client to download the full client in zip format.

    Good luck!

Ok, sounds better than trying fileplanet again. How do I go about getting this application? Thanks, and sorry if I sound 'short' with anyone. I've just really been looking forward to trying this game out.

Oh, you just posted it. Thanks!

Uuuhhg, but at 20 Kb / Sec I might be able to play in a week or two. But, in all seriousness, thanks! Especially if it works. Oh wait, sweet, it was just at 13 Kb / Sec for a little bit :)
