Experiencing too much lag.

I've been experiencing a lot of lag on the last three or four hours, and not just in Starbase 24 or the Space Dock, but everywhere in general. I am not downloading anything at the moment, and have my entire bandwidth dedicated to STO.

Is there any word from the devs on this subject?

Same situation here. I have a rig that falls in the recommended category of machine with GEForce 8800 GT. No problems until today at around 4pm PST. Serious lag issues. I went on CO to see if it might be an engine issue, but had no problem playing on CO. Latency is really bad with play halting, whipping back, then forward in erratic fashion.

I was in closed beta as well and this has been the worst I've seen in terms of latency.

Oh yes, i forgot to mention this. Lots and lots of rubberbanding, even in areas with only 4 or 5 players (pi canis sector block)

I logged in for the first time around 5pm cst today and it was VERY choppy and rubber banding everywhere. I got a gtx260 running on the recomended settings so i would think i should not have choopy anything at that. Going to fire it up after class and see if its better. Going to update video drivers aswell

You can tell if the lag is framerate or connection. If it is connection then your ship will move back for a brief moment while moving forward, during combat you'll move forward or back randomly. I did a traceroute to the server and everything is fine and yesterday I was on with zero issues. Today my ship is flying forward and will teleport back and forth all the time. Definite connection issue.

Leads me to believe there is something with the server itself. 10 traceroutes now and zero packet loss. Did a few 50 pings and no packet loss either.

And it is getting worse, where it took me 3 minutes to go from sirius to pi canis now is taking almost 9 minutes because of the rubberbanding.

Hmm, ok, now any sort of group action in Sirius sector (be it patrol missions, open instance missions or fleet actions) are completely unplayable. You get all the sorts of lag there is.. performance lag, connection lag, interface lag, etc.

Hope the devs know of this :)

Same here. As of right now STO is unplayable for me.

    ST.0.20100108b.14

    I like that "rubberbanding" description.

Server Not Responding, and I can get through half a room, then find myself back where I started facing a random direction. Took me over ten tries to make it to the transporter room from engineering in the intro, then at least the same to actually get on the pad. I kept getting thrown back.

Been pvp'ing (or trying to) all day. 50-50 i get either disconnected from server or it just lags so bad you have to restart.

The maintenance cycle really help. Little to almost no Rubbermaid effect.

This was happening to me and friend last night, rubber banding everywhere, in astrometrics, on the ground in away missions, and also in space combat. Running round the space station was fun as well. Hopefully what has been said about the maintenance cycle has helped.
