Here is what I am currently running:
2XEVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 4GB (2 x 2GB)
I can only get about 15fps in STO when running at 2560x1600 so had to step down a resolution and lower some settings to get into the 30-40 fps range. So I am wondering if OC'ing the GTS's and possibly the cpu would yield better or at least acceptable results versus just buying a new card.
I am running games in 2560x1600 on a 30" Dell. Looking at potentially buying a single Radeon 5870 if it can handle pushing that resolution on its own. A 5970 is also a possibility if that might handle the high resolution better.
Any advice out there would be appreciated. Thanks.
