Heya, well ok some background I'm kind of used to tweaking all kinds of systems so just believe me when I say I tried the usual basics but they aren't of any help here because it seems it'S realeted to the games engine and or the current nvidia drivers.
There seems to be a problem with a range of up to date Nvidia drivers. And so far I could do nothing against it besides going back to some 180. version which I don't wanna use because it get's me problems with some other stuff.
SO please look into this, one would think things like this show up in closed beta but oh well.
The spacefighting works like a charm but the rest ist just totally choppy.
My system:
Nvidia GTS 512 GT GF 8800 (G92 core, 512 MB Ram)
Vista Home Premium 64 Bit
3 GB Ram
Core 2 Duo E7300
Nvidia driver 195.81
with the most recent physx (might be related to the problem but I haven't yet tried to replace the ingame physx files manually and might not be able to tonight because of work early in the morning n stuff)
even with deactivated AO (ambient occlusion) and 2x AA it's doesn't get better and still is choppy and looks like some cachemechanism is cut too short or something.
curious, I thought i would be the first hit! lol. i am running a 295 with the latest drivers(win 7 64) and my other half is running 8800gt on win7 32 and niether of us are experiencing issues that we are aware to be driver issues(and i do have some experiecne so I would hope thats not just ignorance on my part) . I wish i had some answers, i hope you guys get things sorted..or more the point nvidia do
I do not have the up-to-date nVIDIA driver, but it is working on the lower settings. Even though the settings are low, it occasionally runs into a few problems. I am uncertain if I should update the driver because 1) It hasn't been out for that long: they haven't worked out all the bugs and 2) I do not want to accidentally harm my computer system.

I tried the 190.62 drivers and I tried only using one card but no luck.
The 180.xx drivers work... but Cryptic pull you head out the ground and sort this already...
