I had the same problem with the closed beta, after a while the launcher started downloading the patch again and after that it worked. If i'm not mistaken it took about an hour or so before it started downloading again.

The dev is pretty much asking you to update your drivers. I don't think it matters whether that is 9.12 or 9.11 version package.

Either way, here are the previous drivers (it's a link on the bottom of that ATI drivers page)...

    32-bit version of Vista...

If you're running the 64-bit version of Vista, then...

I'd still try the 9.12 drivers as well if the 9.11 works.

Sounds like a problem with your download (ie: corrupted files). I'd work with Cryptic to get that fixed. If you want to try it yourself, wipe the entire game and do a brand new download and install. If you're still getting the same problem, then you might have something wrong with your PC's storage system or memory.

I just spent 90 minutes with trying to create a character but i am always disconnected before i could finish the job. It's really annoying, why is it impossible to continue the character creation? I have no chance to play if i can't even create a single character!

Go to "OPTIONS" in the launcher and mark the "Force Verify" box and then click "OK". It will go thru all the game files and check for problems.

The server is getting alot of connections so it's unstable. Just wait an hour or so and try again when most of the people has finished creating their chars. It's all part of beta.

Sounds like you have a texture.hogg file corruption,

Try force verifying , Select "Force Verify" after clicking on the orange "Options" menu in the game login screen and login into the game normally. Once the game has completed verifying and re-patching the missing game files try again. IF you get the same error try deleting the texture.hogg file and let the patchier download that file for you again.

Please delete the C:\Program Files\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs\texture.hogg" file, start the game client again and let the game patch that file.

    Sincerely,
    Cryptic Studios Technical Support
