unable to start client

Hi all...

when I'm logged in and pressed the ENGAGE key...

my launcher says: Unable to start game client, the given file can't be found!

Anyone who can help me... I can't call helpdesk because they're not answering!!!

    "Real" tech support is sleeping atm :) , but no worries no one can get ingame for another 8 hrs or so.

    Does this error repeat everytime you kill and restart the launcher?

    Have you tried completely uninstalling STO beta and then re-installing it?

    Those are just 2 basic things you should try be4 you do much else.

    Yeah, I know... I Would be glad if I had the same ERROR as everyone did ;-) Now I'm feeling special in not a good way ;-)

    Reinstalling as we speak :p

    Reinstalled... now the bl**dy thing is redownloading the 2,5 GB patch... but no problem...

    I'll keep you posted...

    After I left clicked on run as administrator, it also began to patch it all over again, without uninstalling anything. :confused:

    I'll keep you posted!

    This just means that your launcher can't find your client exe. Make sure your launcher exe is in the same directory as your Star Trek Online directory and game files.

    but it is placed as it is installed...

    can you tell me where to put it... !? Because it is in the root folder... with all the other files ...

    The launcher wont download more than one patch at a time, if your not at the final patch which you'll know, its tiny, keep restarting.

    I had the same problem, so i removed every STO file I had and restarted download, still downloading atm...

    BTW. Is it normal for the files to end up in C:\Users\user\\appdata\local\virtualstore\cryptic studios???
    And that's not the actual download files, I'm talkin about raw game data like 10gigs of it....

    Only if you ignored the default folder and installed in Program Files incorrectly.
