I can appreciate the effort the devs have put in, but sadly the aetherians and axiom as a whole just doesn't work for me.
Personally i find a foe like the Mirror Borg (Borg Kingdom) a more engaging foe than the aetherians.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the episode the first time. The trouble is that it's just so long (same problem with Scorpion's Abyss - but I do enjoy replaying this one more). So playing through on a second or third character isn't nearly as much fun. I've done it with two characters, and I'll be leaving a healthy period of time before I do it with a third, and a fourth (etc).
I do appreciate telling stories through cutscenes rather than dialogue now and again, but I'd advise using it sparingly.
Also reduce the amount of minigames, those really drew it out and got tedious real fast.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

In all honesty, i didnt care for the Part I, i felt it was to long and drawn out for no other reason as being content. To be frank, it seems very boring, very confined. While i really enjoy the ground combat and missions, as the game is very unbalanced space vs. ground, this story just seemed more like or how i saw it, as they were deceiving the alliance of the Federation, but they seem like future Borg, just another way of assimilating or liquating willing people per se, very much resembling BORG.
Commander Shran - You tell Archer, that is three the pink skin owes me!
Why are the devs on the whole pleased with reactions from the player base who for the most part had a poor reaction to this new style of mission? The mission is often regarded as a predictable story that's not very interesting with tedious gameplay. In game chat is not talking about the mission in a positive light from what I have seen and wider community for the most part don’t seem to be to found of it.
Wasnt the mission so bad most player avoided it for the event replay?
For how much work went into the mission and how few players are playing it because we don't like it. The time investment doesn't seemed to have paid off.
People avoiding it for the event replay was not necessarily because of the mission being "bad" but more to do with the length of it, lackluster rewards, or the bugs that came with the mission when it was released.
I personally didn't think it was bad so I am not sure I buy the "most" argument.

I'll take a kill option for Kuumaarke and the Lukari species. I don't want to hear or see anymore protomatter plot devices.

EDIT: Even the reviews on Reddit are along the same lines as what I have seen in game that its not a good mission. https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/1ipilgc/spoiler_axiom_review/
