Resolved an issue that caused captains that were at the max Duty Officer limit to have issues with loading saved loadouts.
And while neither of my Tac-Captains have maxed out their DOFF numbers (both have between 75-125 slots opened), I seem to have suffered this anyway. Looking forward to seeing whether this issue has actually be resolved, or whether this is one of those quirks that's left over from the time Cryptic decreased the save limits for loadouts/configs.
I appreciate the fix for the bunker buster experimental.
Having said that... what a terrible experimental.
Why is it so hard for you guys to make decent experimental. I am getting sick of the best experimental weapons being the same 2 or 3 8 year old weapons. It shouldn't be this hard. Making a variety of decent experiential weapons shouldn't be this hard.
8s recharge on this thing is terrible. I mean for any experimental to have a 8s cool down it has to hit like a truck. This thing doesn't. Sure it has a nice debuff but at 8s+flight time who cares Comparing it to the Proton experimental charge launcher which this is obviously a copy of it fires half as often... does half the damage. Same debuff. The split of dmg Polaron+Kinetic means even if you put it on a Polaron build its under whelming. The polaron dmg hit is not great, if it can't beat a single array with Surgical on it, its not good.
If the plan was to give polaron some cool things... why not just make the secondary dmg polaron as well. After a bunch of parse runs on this thing, there is zero point in putting in on a polaron build. Overall DPS out of it skews kinetic anyway.
This experimental whos description says its rapid fire. Either needs to have a 4s cool down. Or if it keeps the 8s it should do about 2x the dmg it does. It should also be 100% polaron. The Hexa Cannon was added for phaser and justifies its 8s by doing a ton of dmg over 2s. The Gorn Raider experimental with its 8s... is justified as it really does do a ton of dmg to large targets. This polaron weapon is not on par with those newer experimentals.
The name "bunker buster" implies something that packs a wallop (and so does the wording of the description on the ship's announcement page), so the 8s/heavier damage option would be the best, rather than just firing faster, I think.

That would work... the polaron/kinetic is also what eats into its dmg. The AOE dmg on it is pathetic. Kinetic resists are high. It should just do pure polaron with the initial hit dmg being a lot higher. Or maybe having a * like the gorn hunter experimental where it does Triple dmg vs larger targets or something. I'm ok with it not being a rapid fire little target killer, but ya it needs to do better vs large targets.
Just messing around on aprox a 200k patrol parse. The bunker on a full polaron buffed build pulls around 8k and I tried really hard to ensure it went off on targets that wouldn't be dead when it landed. 4 or 5 runs highest run was a bit over 8k. Experimental proton charge launcher on the same build parsed 32k, same debuff applied twice as often. Max hit on the Proton charge launcher 220k... the Bunker buster fulled setup with polaron dmg consoles wasn't even breaking 80k on the single target component. (looking at the math proton does 2x the dmg at half the cool down. You can buff that further with +proton dmg consoles) I am not sure why they are so worried about this new one being uber, maybe after the Hexa they didn't want to over do it too much?
I was hopeful after seeing what they did with the Hexa Cannon. They are frustratingly hit and miss with experimentals. 90% of them are pure trash.
