Well I've been able to get that number to lower down, though it seems the login servers are unstable and if they fail while you're in the queue you get shunted to the back of the queue.
Compared to the mess that was Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker launch this isn't too bad the highest number I've gotten is under 2k still, worst I got in FF14 was over 7k oh and that crashed constantly too.
Not seen that type of message for many years due to LifeTime Perks.
Looks like either the servers came up early or they have taken them back down to replace the poor Tribbles powering things.

Please forgive my off-topic response, but...I wonder if it's going to take a Super Saiyan to fight this "god-like emperor."

But in all seriousness, I hope the servers come back online sooner than 11:30 am PT.
Thanks to the 1 hour earlier maintance a lot of my Tour of Duty ended during maintance. They should release the maintance time frame 24h in advance, so I could schedule accordingly.

The patch notes are usually released the day before. It is only rare occasions they get posted late, besides there is a banner on the launcher detailing the maintenance time.

6:00 am PT means, I had to start the Tour of Duty Missions until 10 am PT the day before. Until 10 am there was no banner.Better would be at least 6 am or earlier

I would be kicked from the queue because I was timed out, then upon my 2nd attempt...
...kicked again due to a time-out...
...and the number keeps jumping up the longer I remain on this screen.
Am I every going to get to play the game today within this hour?

This is not always true.
