It would be a great idea to allow the ground missions to send the first officer instead of the captain, as an alternative. all the same - the universe of Star Trek is a bit not a mass effect where the main character and the ship commands and ground operations. do not forget that, the ship captain in Star Trek is the captain of the ship. for ground operations there is usually a first officer or someone else.

When was the last time they've implemented a new feature, not shop items...

Do we get to pick our extra trait? And does it start at Superior?

Not complaining, just suggesting that this might have been a missed opportunity... Sell them for 250,000 Dilithium and you have yourself a permanent dilithium sink... I can see myself picking up a few, and when I create a new toon, a few more... (Trolling comments moderated out. - BMR)

I'm bummed that for the bridge officers we'll have to buy the traits again, this makes it a zen sink as well as an EC sink and considering how scarce some traits are it's either very expensive or nearly impossible to get them. It'd be much nicer if we're able to select traits from the list that our Captain already learned.

The one trait I want to use for my space BO's costs about 35m on the exchange and there is only one available. I hope that the availability of the traits will also increase.

Alternatively, would Cryptic be open to allowing us traits with dilithium for a limited amount of time like how we had the option to buy vanity shields for dilithium for a certain amount of time? That'd create a huge dil sink during that period.

    This is a great addition to the game but i do have some complaints;

    - 500zen for just 1 of this is too much imo, this is basically ground barbie unless you make so Ground Task Force were you can take your boffs instead of players. THIS has no ROI for the players. Or maybe let us take 2 boff in elite ground q's.
    - someone above suggested this should cost dilithium instead, i would pay 250k dil to help fix game eco
    - so we have upgraded boffs but were to use them ? you can't play task forces q with them, maybe missions ? but there is no need, Dyson ? that sh** is time gated as hell. So maybe 'UPGRADE" some q' also so we can at least get some value.

Like i said great addition but lets hope q's will be next.

Can you make it so these Elite BOffs can wear captain's pips, please? It's always seemed weird to me that we're all 5-star flag officers and our nearest subordinates are only O5 commanders.

This is like the elite captain tokens, pointless power creep!

And just like those tokens should have been used as a dil sink to try to undo the damage caused to the exchange by the stupidly hard and rapidfire push of expensive zen ships just before the gearbox takeover.

If they turn up for free I might get around to using them but otherwise there's no point to giving a boff a kitframe and trait for ground combat when they sometimes still struggle to go through doorways.

Applying a token to your Bridge Officer will instantly add:
    [...]
    1 Kit Frame Slot
    1 Person Ground Trait Slot

So will we be able to Slot whole Kit Frames or is it simply another active ability slot?
Are these "Person Ground Trait Slots" configurable, like the Ship Trait Slots currently are? Like a captains trait slot, but bound to the individual Boff?

Good news bad news. First off I am ecstatic that we finally have a way to upgrade customize or BOFF's. About time. BUT...Ground traits only?!?!? Look, the number one reason I need to train my BOFF's is to get that stupid Romulan off of my Bridge. What Star Trek Hero ship is actually crewed by Romulans, Pirates and holograms?! I want MY Boffs crewing my ship, and not some strange circus crew you came up with only because they have abilities I CANNOT get for my Boffs. (Nothing against Romulans per se I just hate HAVING to use one.) Please sell me, at whatever price necessary, a way to train my BOFFs so that they are just as good (in the opinion of the DPS forums) as Superior Romulan operatives etc.

Presuming you did the math that 250,000 dil is equal to 500Z then in a typically roundabout Cryptic way they are. No idea why they persist in using Zen as the method that they try to use as the sink, all it does it add extra steps and opacity.

Thank you, it made it sound like it was already available and would go on sale on 9/13.

    Why don't these Traits increase?:
    Leadership
    Kentari Ferocity

I'm hesitant now to pull the trigger for:
Restorative Protomatter Specialist on my Lukari

I tried the free token I got and honestly this elite bridge officer training is a bit of a disappointment. I applied it to my one Orion officer and she lost her seduction trait which had confuse and placate resistance mixed with a threat reducing aspect to a superior physical strength trait which she had absolutely no need for. Basically ruining that boffs build setup after the upgrade cause now her threat reduction is gone and she's got a useless superior trait I never wanted on her.

I'm honestly afraid to buy more of these tokens cause I heard that if you use the Pirate trait for space builds it doesn't get upgraded since there is no superior pirate trait. If that is the case and I end up getting my pirate crew members Pirate trait bumped out for something completely useless for what I'm building for then I honestly think these tokens are not worth the cost or effort.

The kit frames are a nice touch but since it's just the frame and no other kit items it feels kind of wasted. I was hoping I could slot that mirror lukari drone in my test boff but that isn't the case since no additional kit items are allowed, just the frame.

I honestly don't see a reason for paying money for something that is going to take a wrecking ball to my bridge officers and how I set them up. Especially when I'm trying to do something other then Superior Romulan Operative on all bridge slots so I'm not with the cookie cutters. Do better next time please.

Not all traits have superior versions or versions that are improved over what they already have.

then prior to applying the token, anything it will not upgrade should be mentioned, as well as anything being lost or replaced if applied.

this was a sad step in the many over the past cpl years. the details were not well thought out and it has now caused serious issues with some people.

Have you actually used an Elite BOFF token on a BOFF? Because it does actually show you how it will upgrade before you apply the upgrade.

It doesn't, nor does it state that it will randomly replace any traits it can't upgrade like what happened when I tested it on my one bridge officer. The description is vague at best and misleading at worst.

"Upgrade All Inherent Traits to Max Rank"

That to me says the seduction trait I lost for superior strength should not have happened. I should have gone to a superior seduction trait with slightly better resists and threat reduction to reflect the max level trait aspect.

Having it show which traits would be upgraded and what would not be would definitely be a welcome improvement. However, a quick search of each trail will also let you know if there are any better versions of it or not.

I would suggest submitting a bug report for the replaced Trait. That doesn't sound like it should be happening.
