Battle of the Binary Stars: remove from random TFO's or make holo-emitters optional please

I've ended up three times in Battle of the Binary Stars today through the Random TFO system. The mission itself is enjoyable, that a holo-emitter is being forced on your ship isn't.

Players don't spend tens or even hundreds of dollars, plus countless additional resources and a lot of time to create their own unique ship just to have it changed into something random whenever they end up in this mission. It makes no sense for a game that promotes the idea of flying your own ship to then force players into something completely different.

When I play a space TFO, I want to see my ship. Not some holographic overlay that make my ship look like it could be flown by any other player or NPC captain. I don't think I'm alone in that.

And I know it's supposed to be a recreation of an historic event - but that doesn't explain why we as the participants have to be holographically changed. The setting of the mission itself doesn't require it - and forcing it on players goes against one of the most fundamental principles of STO.

So that's why I'm suggesting: make the holographic changing of our ships in this mission optional (imo the best solution) - or at least remove it from the random TFO system so that players don't end up in a mission that violates one of the key promises of the game.

I agree. It made sense in the old Drozena station time travel episodes or the newer Romulan doomsday machine mission where you needed to fool the past people, but not so much here.

Totally 100% disagree with you on this. TFO's are ALL 'holodeck' recreations, and Binary is a holographic recreation of a major battle, and it's brilliantly novel that you are dressed up as one of the participants of the War of Independance....sorry, I mean the battle of the Somme....or do I mean the first Thanksgiving.....do you get my drift now?? You're complaining for 5 minutes of being disguised for Christ's sake, and this transformation doesn't actually break anything nor any 'promise' you imagine!!

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Nah, I'm complaining for my own sake. I doubt Christ plays STO. ;)

If the change had any effect beyond the temporary change, I'd be with you, but it doesn't even mess with loadouts like some of the other 'creature play' changes. At least you're not complaining because of a 'best in the game'+20 AC wonder-bra you can't display in battle

Really, it's not like this is ''Step Between the Stars' or 'Sphere of Influence' where you are forced to fight in an actual other Ship with g*d-awful build setups.
