Temporal Anomaly

I'm posting here because it isn't a bug and not sure where I should ask.

I screwed up with one of my TRs the last time the event ran. There were a transponder conditions I neglected to meet. Most of them I completed over time but when the old missions got pulled the the past (And those accursed probes I missed) were lost somewhere in time. The conditions on the transponder still cite the old missions.

Does anyone have any idea what would happen if I dropped the old transponder? I'm wondering if when AoY drops and I do that I can revist the TA on ESD and pick up a new one that might be "updated" to reflect current mission conditions.

Figured I'd ask. I probably shouldn't have let it slide as long as I did but repeating the missions again chasing the beacons I'd forgot to grab never topped my list of favorite things.

Which missions are they? Because if its the Dividian and Breen arcs, those missions are still in game. You just need to go under the "available" tab rather than look at the episode tab. If its one of the missions pulled for revamp in the Klingon War arc... I believe the Devs have said that the upcoming rerun will address that issue by changing objectives to account for missing or revamped missions since the initial Temporal Recruit.

As for dropping the transponder... I never did, but I feel like you either can't, or you might be able to pick it up again in the reclaim store. I don't know on that one, and honestly never tried.

If they do it like the Delta rerun (and I don't see why they wouldn't) then make sure to KEEP your transponder.

What should happen is that the problem mission you mention will be removed from the list and a new one appear in its place in the transponder you got on the original run, so you will be able to do that new one to complete the total AoY stuff. Any old missions that a player completed that are no longer on the mission lists are just gravy and not needed for the "complete all AoY tasks" award, just the ones that appear in your transponder when the rerun event goes live.

The transponders for all the recruitments are never replaced, they just automatically update each time they change something for a rerun, and I doubt if anyone who discards one will be able to get a replacement for it.

Thanks both 😀. Sounds like there are a few potential solutions. I guess I'll find out during the rerun. I should probably focus on the planned captain rather than this one because my distractions are what brought me to this predicament

Keep it if you don't want to make another AoY toon from scratch, getting rid of your transponder seems like a bad idea.

Ok I actually looked at my Temporal device... you cannot discard it at all. So there's actually no risk of losing it.

Right on . I guess I'll find out next week if my transponder adapts to the new mission format. No big deal either way. This is one of my favorite captains, and the captain I'm planning for the event is a mirror counterpart of that captain, ship, and crew.

Well... my Gamma Recruit's transponder did adapt to the revamps they did so Temporal should as well. I'm still tempted to make a new TOS character though.

Making a new captain is one of my favorite things in STO. I like building a themed captain and crew built around a faction/era/concept, sticking with the same ship (love the scaling they introduced so each crew gets their own, "Enterprise"), and imagining a "head canon" that surrounds them and their adventures. If the content isn't to my tastes or not releasing as fast as I'm consuming it I just focus on my captains themselves.

The content may be the same but a diverse selection of captains presents different challenges. I can't change the nail, but I can find a different hammer. I cycle different captains into a group of five that constitutes most of my play time at any given time..
