I agree with those who compared it to a toilet seat; not because of bashing, but because it simply looks that way.
I've seen a lot of toilet designs in five decades on this planet, and I've never, ever seen a toilet that looks even vaguely like a Courage-class, unless you take one particular angle, ignore perspective, and squint. By that logic, a Constitution-class is nothing more than a pizza cutter, and a Vor'cha is a giant fork.
Well, I always thought it was much more like a bottle opener. I've got a Connie bottle opener.
These sorts of people literally don't care. They have turned hating anything Discovery related, even if they have to make something up, into their religion.
Technically this isn't anything new. The same kind of hate-crowds have formed about any new series, and any new installment, in any franchise, period.
It's just that nowadays not only the studios get all the hate-mail, thanks to the internet.
Now everyone gets to "enjoy" everyone else's opinions. The hate against DIS isn't any different from the hate against the Kelvin-movies when those were relatively fresh.
On the bright side, Palpatine will be very pleased.

I trouble is Tribbling all over everything that came before. If you want to make a new series...great, but you don't have to stomp on all the others to do it.
A little respect...that's all I'd like for it, but you're right that some people just love having something to hate.

Yes, it must be hate. Never mockery or criticism. Just hate.
Guys... can we not do this here? While I agree in spirit that some fans can get toxic, this is not the place to discuss it. Please either take the discussion to Ten Forward or PMs so the thread can get back on track.
Although if anyone feels this thread has run its course please feel free to say so and notify a mod.
