Equipping problems

So I just bought a complete set of Saboteur's Gambits to equip on a new ship, and have equipped three of the four pieces without a problem, but when I try to equip the Saboteur's Disruptor Dual Cannons I get the error message "Cannot equip more than 1 of this item", even though I don't have any other dual cannons equipped. Can anyone help, please?

    you can't use 2 weapons of the same set, you must choose between the cannon or the beam

    So it's wrong to call it a "set". Thanks for your help, though.
