Used gamepedia for years....all gone and replaced with complete junk

I have used Gamepedia for years. It provided great information for every aspect of STO. That has been replaced, and the replacement is utter garbage.

The information on the pages looks about the same to me. Please give some specific examples to support for your claim.

It's exactly the same as it's always been.

Unless I am looking at a cached image? But I don't think I am.

It's the same, except for the https://sto.gamepedia.com now takes you to the link above, as others have said.

Note: It states 'Gamepedia' powered by Fandom, in the TOP Left of the screen.

It's the same for https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/ also https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki and several others all use fandom now, as it speaks to all Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and other topics as well.

The only difference I've noticed is they've canged the look of the mobile version, not a fan of the new look either.

Using this URL, I get nothing but a page that is formatted like the old site (colors, fonts, etc), but there is no content.

Well I get the normal wiki page so the issue does seem to be at your end (or everyone would get what you got and that isn't the case).

I've never been to the page before, so what I see isn't a cached image. There's a whole pageful of links to other information there, as well as a couple of trivia bits meant to link to more of the same. If you're still seeing a blank page at that URL, there may be some sort of issue with your browser.

I tried doing hard refreshes of the pages and I'm still not seeing the alleged "utter garbage" on desktop Chrome.

OP: again, please provide actual details or I intend to declare shenanigans on you.

So...really what exactly changed because I can't tell. I'm gonna guess the OP is over reacting to a minor change somewhere....

Nothing changed. Or rather, there was a domain migration - which is still in progress for some wikias - from gamepedia.com to fandom.com.
Some pages seems to have some template problem, (as an aside, my graphic design brain hates wiki's templates, but that's just me XD) and have switched to another format alltogether, but they are being fixed quickly - I encountered maybe 2 or 3 that have since being reverted to the old version - and that still contains every piece of information as they did before.

TL;DR: change in domain from gamepedia.com to fandom.com which apparently caused some templates to go amiss or need some fixing, but they're updated quickly to go back to look how they were before. Nothing's missing, nothing's "blank".

As others have said, if the OP still sees nothing but blank pages then the problem is most likely on their end.
I'd suggest cleaning up the cache entirely, checking if any extension is causing problems (disabling them all and then re-enabling them one by one to check the pages after each activation should do the trick) or trying another browser entirely.

I would also like to point out that the STO wiki is not run by Cryptic, therefor Cryptic is not at fault for anything. Wikis tend to be community driven efforts, the majority that I have visited tend to go as far as they can to provide accurate information, including citations. If it is a result of a domain migration... Then either do as others have suggested or wait it out.
I JUST checked it on Firefox... and it looks fine to me. Without any actual details as to what exactly seems to be the problem for you viewing the STO Wiki... we can only speculate that it might be on your end somehow.

You see "no information" on these pages? What browser are you using?

    https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Ship_weapon

    https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Lock_Box

    https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Delta_Recruitment

They all look OK to me.

Actually, what browser extensions do you have installed? Your extension(s) could be messing with the page contents.

This post, same as the OP, does not help in anyway. As @rattler2 said, Cryptic is not responsible for maintaing the wiki, but we can still try and help you guys out if you just give us some more information.

    - Are you seeing a completely blank page, with no text or background whatsoever? (Sharing a screenshot would be helpful here).
    - What browser are you using? Is it up to date?
    - What, if any, extensions are you using? Are they up to date?
    - Have you tried cleaning your cache and history?
    - Have you tried disabling your extensions and re-enabling them one by one to check that none of them are causing any problem?
    - What browsers have you tried? I personally checked with Firefox, Chrome (ugh, don't use that one please, it's TRIBBLE) and Opera. Everything works perfectly.
    - What anti-virus are you using? It may not seem so, but it can interfere with the displaying of a web page - for example, a few months back Kaspersky was causing a lot of trouble with YouTube, to the point where people couldn't even leave comments because the anti-virus was effectively blocking the function.

In short: give us details and we can help you guys out.

I already fixed the problem for myself - it was Ghostery, and setting a wildcard Trusted Site exception for *.fandom.com SHOULD have fixed it for all wiki sites using that particular network.

Of course, having those sites be marked as trusted sites means all the tracker and privacy invasion TRIBBLE isn't being blocked anymore, so not a preferable outcome - though still better than not being able to use the wiki at all.

Never heard of Ghostery, but I use, uBlock, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials and Privacy Badger and they're blocking everything they can block. Didn't have to change anything when the domain changed, so the level of protection is the same with fandom.com as it was with gamepedia.com.

Still, glad you can use the website once more, as it's very useful and contains lots of info available for everyone.

I use Brave which is supposed to be the best privacy browser and have no apparent issues with the new wiki domain needing any changes to work properly.

Shot in the dark here, but if someone is using an old link that they bookmarked, it might not forward to the right place, making it look like nothing is there. I'm using latest Firefox with uBlock Origin, and just clicked the link above me, and everything works fine.

The OP did not claim, nor blame, Cryptic....as your statement points out the wiki is not from Cryptic.

Use Firefox too, but as it turns out the added extension GHOSTERY, which reduces tracking, causes no information to be displayed.

I didn't say the OP did. There are people who believe that Cryptic is in charge of the wiki, and may take this as an opening to take yet another shot at them. I was heading that off anticipating someone going down that rabbit hole.

I don't use that extension. I got Adblock+ and that's about it. Works just fine on Firefox.
