This would certainly bring a new meaning to the term 'shipporn'...

Clearly it will be a blind date as by the time it goes live the game will have devolved into a semi-sentient visual blob obscuring everything on screen.

Well, according to a research assignment, Hur'q ships "are actually living, biological creatures with their own distinct personalities".

So joke's on you! *slaps the "hood" of tsundere insectoid queen Vedcrid who promptly activates her Repulsive trait and sends the captain flying across the shipyard*

I can't wait for this! I am looking forward to finally be able to go on a real date with my Ha'nom Guardian Warbird. He has all the right curves in all the right places, but he can be sharp and tough when he needs to be. He is one sexy starship.

I hope this expansion comes with a brand new skin and T6 upgrade for my darling Ha'nom so I can really show him off out on the town in style.

Missed opportunity in adding a new mini-game to STO ;)

*sigh* Seeing V.C.'s hologram, makes me hope that Vorta would be added to the Jem'Hadar/Dominion faction (even if it was an unlock like Al suggested it could be if it was made available, I wouldn't have a problem with that 😁).

    This seems shipshape.

    *Gross.
    **No we’re not.
***There’s literally thousands of these games.
****You didn’t come up with that!
*****There are no more to come.
******You mean the starships you picked arbitrarily.
    *******Five. Just five.
    ********WHAT
    *********It REALLY isn’t.

It's ok STO team, we understand you're all just being tsundere about it. It does make easy money, and is much easier to develop too. No one would fault you for selling moe'fied Hologram Shipgirls/Shipfus that can be customized as a Boff or including "Date Your Ship" Doff packs (complete with male/female versions) with each T6 purchased.

Sponsored by Dermal Regenerator Incorporated (c): The necessary tool when you get frisky with your date.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Ah effectively Kancolle in SPACE!™ thing is this could be the most popular move Cryptic has done since standing up the original game build one year. They can issue an update 'The JT Edition' where they reverse it with a free Kirk hologram with every 1701 Enterprise variant. Or the next Lockbox ships is of the Gomtuu looking once more for someone to call a friend.

Can add that the type of missions your DOFFs perform affect the Personality of the ship, want it more Yandere than Tsundere simply do the right chains. Cryptic may miss a trick with this*********************

*********************I'll only take a 10% cut from the DOFF idea, 9th rule and all that.

    Seriously Cryptic?
This is your best idea for an April Fools joke?

If you end up ever making this real then you are literally out of ALL ideas.
It has been done before in Star Trek Voyager -not an episode that anyone I know who is a Star Trek fan around here really even cared about. Now put this in the 14th millennium AD with ships like the Andromeda Ascendant and its AI, Avatar and Hologram we could then talk but I digress.

Even so by Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda standard -Star Trek -even in the 25th/31st centuries is way far too primitive to even comprehend nor competent enough to handle correctly love by starship.

    Capeesh?

This just makes me think of a certain Futurama episode where the ship gains an ai and Bender falls in love with it.

Is it weird that my biggest concern about this is that they called Bortasqu' a "5'000 ton starship"? That's low for an actual irl ship nevermind a space-dwelling battleship. The Galaxy class is given at about 1000 times that mass and the Bortasqu' is quite a bit more sizeable according to dialogue.

It's Star Trek, where 82 AUs is considered "Not great, not terrible" size-wise, where sonic weapons work in space, where antimatter cures being turned into a newt-catfish, and where evolution is considered like Pokémon "evolution".

So missing at least 3 zeroes for ship weight is basically Star Trek writing 101...

It's just... it's like calling the Titanic a dinghy or Dwayne Johnson a small baby.
