Fly-In Group Loot Messages

Friends, how do you get rid of the extremely annoying fly-in messages when you're in a group in regard to who needs or greeds an item? I honestly never noticed it before and it fills up much of the screen. I've gone into settings but can't seem to get rid of said messages. Any help?? Much appreciation in advance :)

From what I can tell, it can’t be turned off.. and it’s annoying.

Drop down next to minimap -> Notification Settings -> Squadron Looting -> toggle it on and back off

Didn’t work for me.. I turned off every single fly in and nothing stopped it.

It seems to be that the controls de-synced with the tick marks when they added the new setting for Friends fly-bys, so you might try setting it to 'on' instead. Though just hitting it 'on' (it was 'off' after that patch) and back to 'off' worked for me.

My pseudo solution was to move the notification area to the very top of the screen where it's easy to ignore. I couldn't figure out how to stop fly ins for admiralty, which kept covering the missions as I would finish setting one and start on the next, and this got those, and all others, out of my way.

Yeah, this thing is as broken as it gets.

I played with it and found out that if I turn Squadron Looting on, it doesn’t save.. closing the box turns it back to off and either way the message appeared.

Finally, I turned it on, then turned it off.. tested it.. it was still on. I repeated these same steps 3 times and on the third one it worked.

I was going to do it on my other 10 characters and then decided it’s a waste of time. It’s obviously broken so they will probably ‘fix’ it in a patch. The patch of course, not only won’t work, but it will turn all the notifications back on re-breaking it for everyone that managed to get it turned off. That could happen 2 or 3 times, so instead of messing with this on each of my characters, I’ll probably just leave it for now.

    Stupid pain in the @#$.

Tom, this worked for me - the toggle on then back off. There may have been a relog in there somewhere to but no notifications now after several TFO's on the character that tried it so all is good.

I also set my Auto-Loot to ON in Basic settings under Options, yet wished that also just default the preference to selecting Need. I also wished it would auto pickup any thing you fly within 5km of, without having to pick it up either. Yet you still have to select to pickup each item, and then also to select Need or Greed. :'(

I'd tried the Squadron's settings but often I'm having to resave that on several occasions as well.

I wish they also enable a setting in Inventory, that you could Sell or Salvage all (Unprotected) items in ones inventory too...

A little improvement on this issue would be nice!

"Apply" will sometimes push the settings out to your other characters. I think that's what it's intended for, considering anything toggled (usually) instantly becomes the setting for that character and will stay, unless you hit "Cancel". Found that out when enabling voice on a character going through some story missions, hitting "Apply" and "OK" out of old habit, then getting the 'Tzenkethi forces are...' hail verbally on all my chars using that for a transwarp bookmark around DS9...

For some reason, my Delta Recruit and my Temporal Recruit both had to do it multiple times to get it to stick. The rest of my characters, I just did the on/off and it worked the first time. It's wonky, but eventually.. it works.
