I am having trouble completing this mission. Ambassador Kael told me he thought this could be played as a two person mission. When I tried it, my partner was in a different instance and we could not find a way into the same one. Does anyone know if this can be played as a two person mission? They normally tell you if it can't and this one does not say it is solo only.
I believe that in order to be in the same instance, you have to be teamed while still in sector space, and then the team leader enter the mission first. (There may be other details as well, or I may be wrong, it's been a while.)
Normally that is true, but this mission seems to behave like a solo mission. I have tried a few ways to try and get two players in the same instance for this without success.
I suspect the problem is that key points in the mission are built around locating missing members of your away team, which I assume would not be possible once you add one or more additional players into the mix.
I agree. That's why I asked. I was hoping I could use some help to get over those canyons. This is the last campaign for my Klingon recruit and I can't finish it.

The mission description tells you if it's single player or not. I've told you this before.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Nothing in the mission seems like it should be single player only, I.E., flying a prebuilt ship, etc. However, it is, I've never been able to get any teammates into the same map with me.
I think that's because at some point your bridge crew each have a dialogue and get scattered to 4 different points, waiting for their Captain to rescue them.
That's the part that breaks all of it. The other Captains won't sit there waiting to be rescued, since this isn't a Tabletop RPG.
Even if we discounted this, the OP has another major obstacle. If we followed the example of any other mission where you can team on the ground, the team still has to stay together to complete most objectives. So things like getting to turbolifts together is still necessary.
In short, even if you could team up, they can't completely carry you. Several suggestions were given to help with the jumps in that mission in the previous thread. At some point, you will have to do that to complete the mission.
Call me "El," she/her only. I love my wife and I don't care who knows it!
Oh no, is this becoming our own "Cuphead's tutorial jumping cylinder" mini-meme?...
Did I mention I did it on my 2nd try

Yes, but apparently you are wrong. I tried it and it didn't work
many people have offered ideas, etc., on how to get this to work for you. have you looked at videos people post on how they complete it? many are out there. its not impossible.
Yes, I have. I have six other toons and they have all completed it. For some damn reason, I can't do it with this character (my KDF recruit)
If u made it in other chars, has the recruit some injuries by any chance?
Definitely check for this OP.. because something is very wrong here.
This mission is not hard.. at all. It seems it's not hard for you either, you have done it 6 times before, this is obviously not something that's beyond you. Whatever the problem is here, it has something to do specifically with your recruit. I can't imagine what, outside of injuries, could be going on to make it so difficult for this one character.
If you have done this mission 6 other times with success, then this is obviously an anomaly. Something is wrong with your recruit that's causing this to fail.

I agree. I double checked but he's fine and healthy. I can't figure out what this time is causing me so many problems. Sorry for the multiple posts. As you can imagine, this is very frustrating!
What difficulty level are you running the recruit on - Normal, Advanced or Elite?
I cannot really see it making a difference for the jumping section, unless you are taking damage or status effects at higher levels that hit as you attempt a jump, but it might be worth a try if you are not running it on normal.
And I agree that, given the fixed events involving locating your away team members, it really should have been labelled as a solo mission, but I cannot see them ever getting around to changing it at this late date.
Is Auto-Attack set with Melee weapon? Depending on settings and if your weapon has a Closing ability, like Molor's Sword or Bat'leth of Sto'vo'kor, the auto attack could be forcing you to attack the mutant and mess up your jumps by redirecting you. Since the Mutant is invulnerable here, I often right-click the attack icon to disable Auto Attack during this part of the mission.

The Mutant isn't actually invulnerable during this section. Once it lets out its scream attack, you have several seconds where you can damage it with a melee attack, then it starts becoming invulnerable again a few second before it starts charging the attack again.
I actually managed, for fun after jumping on the first platform, to empty its HP bar before it cloaked.
For those wondering why would I do something so stupid yet so brave, it's because I lost patience waiting to see if it'd follow me on the platforms and decided at first to taunt it and see if it'd follow then, before trying to see if I could kill it and break the mission or get an accolade.

Cool to know! I couldn't remember how much space I had to actually fight here. I was able to fight off the Mutant in the later parts several times with Bat'leth of Sto'vo'kor but couldn't remember if that was true earlier.
That said, someone who is trying to run but has their auto-attack on might still have problems falling. Or any ability or kit mod that might move your position accidentally.
