Hi, perhaps this is not in the proper section, but I add Bootcamp on my MBA and now all of my characters (lifetime member) are gone! I reached out to support, but was hoping some of you all might have some thoughts. I did sign into it like I have always done...the game ran fine on an iMac 2019, but I gave that to my mom so that I could get a laptop, blah blah blah. I just hope I can recover all of my work on these characters and restore my lifetime membership to STO.
What time period did you leave? If it was long ago, I.E. before or early Free to Play transition, Support would have to transfer you over to using the Arc login.
If it was more recently than that, double check you're trying to log into the right account. I've heard of few people using an alt account and email by mistake.
If you ran fine as recently as 2019 and ALL your characters are now gone, my guess is that you somehow managed to create a new account rather than signing into the existing account.
I hope you get all of this straightened out. Good luck!
Yes, since your account was fine in 2019, it's a 99% chance you just accidentally created a new account when you reinstalled STO.
If you check your old emails for ones from Perfect World or Cryptic or with STO in the title they should show what email your old account used and you can do a password recovery.
These guys are all correct.. all of your account information including your characters and all your past purchases, including the LTS are saved on Cryptic's servers. They are completely independent of your computer system.. you can log into that account from any computer and the information is there. People have famously come back from 2, 3, 4+ year absence and had all their previous progress waiting.
The only thing you lose by changing computers is saved costumes and ship templates as well as any keybinds. That's pretty much all that's saved on your PC. Though in my case even my keybinds that I set up on my PC remained when I played from my laptop so mileage may vary there as well.
It honestly sound like you're logging into the wrong account as everyone above pointed out.

Might want to verify game files too. I had a friend who thought all his characters were gone on his account, and it was his main account not a fresh one, and it turned out to be some kind of Cashe problem.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!
