I've been thinking a long while about what I want to make for a recruit, either a Orion for the smexy outfit or a Liberated Klingon.
I don't know if it was ever really discussed, all I think in canon they ever only ran into one liberated Klingon (I guess two if you want to count B'Elanna?) but for my liberated character I was trying to think about how liberated Klingons would be treated
On one hand I could see letting yourself get captured and taken by the enemy would be seen as bad by a Klingon, but on the other hand Borg typically overwhelm their foes with large ships and great numbers...so being assimilated could be seen as remaining to fight against overwhelming odds
So I don't know how Klingons would look upon former Klingon drones...
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
It's something I've wondered about too. I think the dishonour would be even greater because you're not just captured, but you are captured in a very intrusive way and then you help the enemy.
On the other hand, aren't Klingons who are assimilated considered to have died? We know that consciousness means everything, the body is just a shell. A Klingon whose identity has been removed, doesn't exist anymore. When freed from the collective, his rebirth coincides with the death of a soldier of the Collective.
In that regard, assimilation is like dying in battle (assuming the Klingon wasn't assimilated while he slept of course ). Liberation is perhaps the most honourable thing to have happened to / be done by the restored Klingon.
