How does a F2P player get keys to unlock any of the boxes?

I'm a F2P player and I have been passing on these boxes because I have not been able to open these boxes. if there is a way to open them without hav[ng to pay to get these keys I would like to know how. thanks in advance

Save up your dilithium and convert it into zen. Then you can purchase key(s) from the store. Alternatively you can earn ec in the game and purchase keys on the exchange. Going rate right now I think is between 8 and 9 million ec per key. There is no way to open the boxes without a key.
