Remove hanger pet locked to one ship type

I paid for this hanger pet and I should be able to USE it on ANY ship I want. it limits the player to TRIBBLE universe hanger pets. why limit the number of hanger pets someone can use? if I want to use the lost souls on my Eternal I should be able to. The amount of useless ships with good hanger pets is to much. allow us to use any hanger pet WE PAID FOR

    wont ever happen... else all hanger pets would be Rom Drones.

    too true, I mean the Rom drones is the only reason anyone uses the Scimitar at all as it is.

    Not sure about. As much as I enjoyed Rom drones in the past, even if they got unlocked for all ships I am not sure I would have a reason to go back to using them.

    Drones aren't the top pet especially with SAD. Blue To-doj swarms are the top. I think the blue scorpion swarms beat drones too.

    My guess would be that CBS doesn't want us doing things like launching Jem'Hadar Attack Ships from a Federation Jupiter class carrier, so I wouldn't expect hangar pet limitations to change any time soon.

    I think you might have told me before you use Frigates only and I forgot. If we are talking Frigates only then Drones are still really good in the top 5 as far as I am aware. If we are talking all pets I am not sure they even make the top 5 anymore for DPS.

    If we are talking all pets being unlocked then that includes Xindi-Aquatic Mobulai Frigates which personally I would use over Droneships as they match my builds better and still do great DPS. There is also the Terran Empire Frigates which I can see being popular.

    I see zero reason box ship pets are locked to the box ship. For something that rare, if I want to use them on a Cstore carrier, why can't I?

    I'd even settle for being able to add a hanger slot to ships that don't have them. I would love to use my Advanced Delta Fliers with my Odyssey Starship, for example.

    I doubt it.

    Some players pick the pets they think look best and not everyone thinks the Romulan drones look best.

    It's not even consistent. I can't recall which, but some of the Caitian hangar pets (fighter, fighter squad, frigate) are locked to Caitian carriers only and some are 'any full carrier'.

    What useless ships with good hangar pets? Most of the best hangar pets are universal...

    Or is it you're angry that you need to buy a certain ship to unlock those pets and you think they should just be given to you for free?

    I always thought that full carriers should have the ability to use whatever pet. Maybe as a trait? Or craft an improved hanger?
    But it isn’t a hanger thing. Look at the icon Ian carrier. Those things don’t even have a hanger
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    IMO fighters/squadrons should be unlocked for any ship type, but all of the frigates/escorts/drones (the 'larger' pets) should be restricted to their respective types.

    It really pisses me off that caitian stalkers are restricted to caitian carriers now, because they used to be usable on any carrier or any ship with a hangar (including things like the armitage/alita escorts). There's no reason to restrict these, all it does is limit choice and create an artificial/forced incentive to use a ship that otherwise wouldn't be used at all.

    Of course, this wouldn't be such a problem if they'd buff the freaking 3/3 carriers. There's no reason they should be this weak anymore, the 5/3 carriers outclass them completely and all the 3/3's with science-heavy bridge officer seating can't even benefit from secondary deflectors.

    Sure, it has nothing to do with it being a 5 forward weapon ship with a battle cloak, full commander tactical, and a great console and BoFF layout right? Most people that use the Scimitar use it because it's a great ship.. the Drones are a 'throw in' and always have been.

    It's even more perplexing because the pets for the other faction Support Carriers are not locked to any ship at all. It's only the Caitian Stalkers that they opted to limit which is very strange indeed.

    I have to agree, if you own a ship, rather it's a Lock Box, Promo, C-Store, or Event ship.. you own that ship, you should be able to use the hangar pets on any other ship. This would end up being a net gain for them, they already sell ships based on it's console or it's trait.. making this change would allow them to make mediocre ships that people would pay for because it comes with good hangar pets.

    I'd be all for this.

    There are a bunch of interesting fighters that are locked to obscure and niche ships. I honestly don't see the harm at this point. If anything, I'd probably consider picking up some ships if it meant I could use their fighters on any ship. (Xindi, Son'a, Sphere Builder, etc.)

    Probably not meta, but I really like the Lost Souls of Gre'thor and would actually use carriers more often if I could use them on any ship with a hangar bay. There's just something satisfying about watching swarms of them rush toward enemy ships and burn them to a crisp.

    I really wish Cryptic would take the time to balance hangar pets a bit, then get rid of the unwanted ship-specific restriction nonsense.

    Those are pretty meta for those that have Scrambled Fighters but not access to the SAD trait. Without SAD Lost Souls are the most powerful pet and can do single hits well over 10k each. Though they are hit pretty hard, harder then other pets due to the current Flight Deck Officer bay recharge bugs. Even with that bug they still scale up in damage with Scrambled Fighters better then any other pet. Just wish the devs would fix the Flight Deck Doffs.
