I'm not sure what to add beyond the title. I'd appreciate it if lifers could get a legendary Chimera somehow.
Make us pay like 2500 or 3000 zen for it if necessary. That'd be cheaper than the other legendaries, but of course players already need to have spent money on their lifetime subscription. And it would still earn Cryptic some money to justify the development costs of this ship I guess.
You do know that there is one for each faction, right? This wouldn't be Cryptic doing the Chimera, it would have to do the other 3 ships as well.
It also wouldn't make sense to then give each of them the same T6 trait if you have to buy 4 ships, nor to lock out every non-lifer from buying them as that is just leaving $$ on the table. Maybe give a discount for lifers and the 1000 day vets back when that was a thing, but if they did this I'd expect a 12000 zen package at least.

You already have to pay around $200-$300 for a lifer sub, which gives you access to the lifer ships by default. Throwing on another thing and putting it behind a paywall... feels a bit like double dipping on the lifer sub.
"You can unlock all these for the price of a lifer sub, but if you want the legendary lifer ship, you got to pay MORE."
Eh... I think I'll side with the no crowd on this one. Besides... the lifer ships aren't really prominent enough to warrant a legendary. Every ship that has gotten the Legendary treatment has been iconic in its own way.
The Fed bundle has had ships that had spearheaded shows.
The Legendary Romulan was the FIRST Romulan ship to be seen
The Legendary Discovery was the ship that STARTED Discovery.
The Legendary Mirror was the flagship of a comic, and the class featured in the series finale of TNG.
The Chimera/Manticore has... no real claim to fame. Other than Nog commanding the Chimera herself... they aren't anything special whatsoever.
There are rumors of a Legendary Excelsior, but that ship can be justified because guess what? The Enterprise-B was an Excelsior. So that's got some weight behind it. And when the Legendary KDF bundle comes out, you know they're going to pick the iconic ones.
Again... the Chimera just doesn't have that kind of recognition.

I think Lifetime membership Sorely needs new perks to make it worth while. Don't give me any of that BS about "Oh the zen stipend is reason enough" no, 200 to 300 dollars for a 5 dollar monthly stipend is not worth it.
Biggest and easiest thing would be to add in Legendary versions of lifer ships. Don't make us have to pay for them, just give them out as a new lifer perk. Hell make them Miracle worker. Give them a T6 trait similar to their original, a trait that encourages mixing torpedoes and energy weapons. I disagree with rattler on them not being important enough. We got a Legendary Walker. That ship is not that important at all.
A secondary thing would be for the devs to stop giving the age old excuse of "Alien creator is for if you want to play other species". Give us new lifer only species. Liberated Borg Jem'hadar. Vorta. Lukari/Kentari. Just add more value.

It's not a new thing that they're selling the same ships multiple times though.
Lifers would still get the T5 Chimera and the T6 Manticore. An additional option to buy a legendary version wouldn't have any negative impact but could be interesting to those who want it.
Besides, we're already paying for fleet modules to get a T6 Fleet Manticore.
So it wouldn't be that different from what's already happening, basically.
As for the specialty-thing: forgive me, but I didn't find the 235th version of the Constitution class that special either. Besides, the Odyssey is in the Legendary pack too and it never played a role in any of the series or movies. It didn't even exist there when they released the pack.

I don't really care about the other factions
Seriously though, they designed T6 versions of the three existing ships and took the effort to design a Jem'hadar one from scratch. When they didn't have to do that. So apparently they thought the ship would be worth it, or that lifers deserved it or whatever.
They had to have had some good reason so it's not unreasonable to expect the legendary treatment for these ships.

The Odyssey is the current incarnation of the Enterprise in STO. So technically speaking she fits the bill of "Spearheading a series". The many of the Legendary ships have carried the name Enterprise.

The Chimera is not a canon ship, it can't be Legendary.

Neither is the Odyssey.

I don't know... the Odyssey has shown up in comics tied to Admiral Picard...
But the fact that the Enterprise-F is an Ody does mean that she's got more star power than the Chimera.

the legendaries are directly tied to having the name Enterprise or be the flagship of a Star Trek series, with the exception of the Rom, which as noted was the first appearance of that class ship. IMHO the only other ships that should be legendary are the D7/K'tinga, and the B'rel for the KDF (arguments can be made for the Vorcha and Negvar) and the Jem Bug. Excelsior should be high on the list because Enterprise B and Sulu commanded the Excelsior herself. Another candidate for Legendary is the D'Deridex. before any of them, I think there needs to be a science ship 3 pack, Nova, K'vort and Rom D7. 2 of those are canon ships not yet in the game at all.
I'd say at the worst give it the legendary treatment and make it another free ship for lifers, then give bring normal t-6 up to legendary standards without changing much, so there's more bang for your buck.

Yeah I'd say the Excelsior and the Ambassador deserve it way ahead of the Chimera.
Be careful what you wish for.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
