you use to be immune from this if your racing... just did race and snowmen kept pelting me with snowballs as I was racing... almost died to snowballs.

that sounds like a glitch. neither tide nor the snowball fight should be running during the race

No, the open race... not the competitive one... I’ve been in the same situation... I just wait out the 10 minutes in the snowball fight before I run... the timer is in the schedule in the top right (assuming you haven’t moved it).

it's happened since the beginning but very spottily. Usually around the far side of the lake.

The best way to stop that is to play the snowman fight and kill the big one at the end as fast as possible, that gives you quite a while to run the race without interference.

It is less important now since any event gets you daily progress, but if you miss the beginning of the snowball fight (I always seem to rez in in right when the big snowman says his his tag line) running the race is the fastest way to get the progress credit since you have to do at least most of an event to get the credit and there is usually about ten minutes of downtime before the next one kicks off after that snowball fight one.

no this is for the personal race to get the daily done, Fastest Game on Ice. Snow Ball Fight is going on, you leave the Gazebo and you get attacked... that's normal. You get to the Breen NPC and signal to start the race and you get ported, snowmen stop attacking ya. That's how it use to be. Not sure if what happened was a glitch or they bugged the code and now you get attacked regardless. Dunno, I just happened to log in during snowball fight and wanted to do my daily. Well see if this happens again.

You've never been immune to snowball attacks during the race......ever. Every year I've played (10 years-ish) I've always been hit.

In the past, you were immune if you had an NPC competitor. If you did not, they could hit you. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I get pelted with snowballs till I get put on the track and when I'm done and run back off the track I get pelted again, but I don't get pelted while I'm running the race.
Now a LTS and loving it.

They didn't really think about other activities disrupting your race at all (or more likely didn't care), it's also super annoying if kremp-whatevers message pops right in your face WHILE you are in the middle of racing.
But thats another thing which has been like this since forever and most likly will never be changed. We can just hope they don't come up with another activity disrupting you the next years and try to time our races around the existing ones or live with the fact our race may fail because of a rouge snowball or a message blocking most of our view :/

I have run into this several times. In anticipation, in case Krampiri is running near its end, I just keep a finger near the 'F' key and punch it if the message shows up.

So far it hasn't affected my racing too much.

Sure, if you know it's coming it's easy to just push 'f' and get rid of it, but if you don't think about it, or are new to the race, it can really throw you off...
