Why charges are still enabled if you need to respec? Skills are invalid due to a QC issue at Cryptic.
Simply put they should just disable ALL charges for a respec token or give daily free tokens until this feature is FIXED for good. This is the least they should do as good will gesture other than fixed the broken system
It is unfortunate this has repeatedly happened regarding the Skill Tree & I definitely understand the headache, but Cryptic has it where both times, or is it a third now, this has happened it is a free Skill Tree respec.
Besides there's already another thread covering the Skill Tree hiccups & the free training repsec. This should be merged into that thread imo.
STO should adopt the 'training house' idea from Champions Online. For example Starfleet could have a new beam down location on earth or the moon that loads you into an instance where you can purchase new skills and test things out with an interface to undo the changes but once you leave this location those choices get locked in. Call it something like "Starfleet R&D" and come up with fun names for the Klingon, Jem and Romulan versions.

Anytime the Skill Invalid scenario happens, the Respec is automatic and FREE on all accounts and all characters for that purpose.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I really like this idea & it would be extremely beneficial for players to be able to "test things out" before locking such decisions in so I'll go ahead & guess even though it is in anothe rgame Cryptic won't do it for STO sadly lol.
A single wrong click can't mess up the respec anyways since, as I recall, it takes a minimum of 2 clicks to do anything. And you can get free respec tokens via the rep system. (1 per rep I think, which means you can get 13 free respec tokens per character. Granted it takes effort to get them, but it doesn't require real money.) Lifetime Subscribers also get a bunch of tokens.
Only thing which i find puzzling is why it is from the 18th forward and not immediately after today's patch.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

(Also, related to this, the respec token system is horrible at letting you see how many you have left in these situations.)

Probably in case today's patch does not fix it or causes other problems that require backing it off.
