Getting in the Spirit for a Holly Jolly...

Just a thought but when I played world of tanks years ago I recall them giving away a premium tank every year for Xmas. Some extremely rare ones now. it was nice Gesture of a online game to do that, yeah the tank was just a Teir2 tank but I still have my T1E6 from the first year I played. How does this Relate? well What would be cool is, This could be A gift for everyone is have a Tier 2 Ship that while going through story lines when you fly it, you earn 2x rewards in EC and Dil. In the coming months I will Have 2 friends coming to the game who never played before. It would be very Enticing for them to try the game during this time. Just a thought. oh and remember I said a Tier 2 ship that would bring extra rewards... only from repeating story content. :)

STO already has even better than that.... there is a seasonal event which includes a project to earn a free T6 ship. The ship is a new ship each year. (There's actually three such events, but one of them is associated with the upcoming winter holidays.) Since T6 ships are now scaleable and can be used by anyone after tutorial...

Yeah I understand that, one thing about premium ships however, is that it basically is a skin, I was hoping on a reward that did just a little bit more for enticing people to run story missions instead of sitting around the exchange type thing all day. Once you complete the mission while the ship is equipped. you earn bonus EXP, Dil, and EC. It doesn't have to be double even a 25% boost would be significant. and I would assume it would help people who want to motivate themselves for story or Episodes a chance to work through them. Like a 1 time ship once a year that offers this for completing story missions would be very sweet. Even if we didn't get a coupon for a store ship. its more about the anticipation of what will happen each year and what kind of "Surprises" There is on Christmas day, that's all :) Also i might add the bonus would only work for Story Rewards nothing more.

EDIT: if I Were to compare it to something along the lines and forgive me for the reference, Like similar to the function of wow's Heirloom Armor. where when equipped you gain 5% bonus EXP and quest rewards. Why not have Heirloom Ships that when equipping there consoles only does that.. A Boosted buff to Episode Rewards, collect 5 ship consoles get the complete set maxed at 25%...

Lastly heh, Dont put them in the C-Store once each one gets introduced... Put Them in the Dilithium Store.

I agree with westmetals. Cryptic does things I think are wrong or disagree with at times but Cryptic has been very generous throughout the years giving away ships, items, & services. The Winter, Summer, & Anniversary events (& rarely other opportunities) earning ships is perhaps the most generous of mmos. All, or most, of the boosting you wanted are available already in-game to be acquired if one wants one way or another.

I do think it is a valid thought about incentivizing completing (all) the storyline missions more. I think the recruitment events attempted that but then again Cryptic has locked those away & threw away the key apparently.

oh I never said they Were not Generous, I really do Enjoy the game, as well happy I can enjoy it on a small of not very slim budget. However I Do see people in the forums hoping for something in the Dilithium store to aim for other than costumes, While the purpose I am trying to aim at is more in the sense for episode missions only. Like i said i love all the freebees this game has if one wishes to attain them. Heck they don't even need to make them a part of the normal festivities Just introduce a ship every year around this time for the Dil store that can be used to boost leveling alts or repeating missions. A lot of work has gone into those missions. its kind of a shame in my eyes people don't run them more especially after specific episodes where the gear implemented is Extremely nice stuff.

Well, recruitment events are pretty similar to what you want, and they have usually had them around this time of year. The next one is likely not going to happen till the Klingon story advances to some specific point, based on stuff they've said, which means probably not till late January.

Now, the option to repeat story missions in a specific ship for bonus xp or whatever sounds nice, but you need to remember missions all scale with level. Some missions can be pretty rough repeated at 65, especially if you're stuck in a T2 ship.

And then there's the bug with the TOS arc for TOS captains, where you get scaled down to first run levels, and the enemies are your actual level.

I remembered it being so that mobs were scaled like you were max level regardless of your level.

Still... it makes replaying those episodes pretty rough even on normal.
