regarding the 6k zen ship buy token sale...

keepcalmchiveonkeepcalmchiveon Member Posts: 4,292 Arc User
it says for any t6 ship in the zen store.

would this then include any single ship under the Mudd tab?

the description for them is vague to a degree and doesnt spell it out so i am wondering if others found a more precise yes or no to the above..

thanks.
for reference:

From November 20th at 8am PT (17:00 CET) to November 30th at 10am PT (19:00 CET), Captains will be able to purchase the T6 Starship Coupon Gift Three Pack! This item, which costs 6000 Zen, allows you to purchase any three ships from the Zen Store at 100% off. When you purchase this item, it will appear in your inventory as three separate reward packs, one for each coupon, that are tradeable to other players! Mail it or trade it to your friends, and gift the people in your life a brand new T6 ship of their choice. (You just can't put it in the Exchange.) Once you open the reward pack, the Coupon itself is bound to account, so be careful not to open it before you send it off to your friends. You can purchase this bundle once per account. Give the best gift in the galaxy, Captains, give the gift of space travel.

edit: again, some slight of hand/misrepresentation on how it works. if the answer is no, then you should add a disclaimer within the description that specifies the Mudd store t6 ships are not included the this offer. @darkbladejk - i pinged you to this so you can get this updated. not happy as i am sure its a no, but yall need to really get with the details on exclusions etc.
meh

No, Mudd's store is best thought of as a different store in the same strip mall.

No, Mudd's store is best thought of as a different store in the same strip mall.

point, however it is within the zen store. aka the zen mall. and the above does not specify that mudd is out of bounds.

Despite this being true, the answer you were given is correct, it will not work on anything in Mudd's Market.

The company is called 'Cryptic' for a reason. You have to either ask someone, or guess.

Yeah I doubt anyone really disagrees with you. It does not feel like a separate store, especially accessed from the same place, but you have to think of it as such to understand how it works.

If they do not allow you to buy ships in Mudd's Rip-off Stand with these coupons, then this could be seen as false advertising and the coupons should be returnable for a full refund.

I can't say for sure, but my guess would be that if someone had bought the coupons thinking they worked for Mudds and asked support for a refund, they would likely get it.

Still, it should clearly say before you buy it, but Cryptic is famous for ambiguous descriptions exactly like this one.

As I'm looking at it right now, the item description within the Store clearly states for ships in the T6 Tab only.

Is the 6K zen cost the final price you pay... or is the current zen store 25% off sale stacks on top of it?

    hmmm so 1500 per ship.

Ok I probably will bite on this then. I only got the Zen cause the total amount was better than the previous total zen I got for the $. Was gonna save it for future bundles/packs.

I have a number of the old T6 3 ship cross faction bundles I never got... guess I will go thru em and buy out the Rom ship for the ship trait.

The description in the store makes it pretty clear that it only works on ships under the T6 tab

Sure, the blog post might be misleading, but only if you want to be misled. It's no worse than commercials that say "Get a free ____", only to reveal that you have to buy something else to get the free one (and then also pay "processing & handling"

In situations like this, whether intentional or just happening, I go by the descriptions & statements of where I have to actually make the purchase. I think legally it is that way too. Any previous words & such can be stated to be marketing &/or then altered. It is what it says when you buy it that matters most.

I think the 3x gift ship coupons is a novel idea & at 4500 zen as it is currently a good deal. I can also understand Cryptic limiting them as they have.

That question is tough to answer, we don't know what you already have or what type of character you prefer to play. We don't even know what faction you play.. so just buy what you like. If there is something specific you are looking for, please feel free to explain exactly what you want and we can try and help direct you toward that ship.

    Either way, welcome back.

Thanks! I'm currently playing a fresh Human Borg Science officer for Star Fleet. I do have a level 38 one, but I want to start over and re-learn the game.

I was thinking of getting the below, but not sure if they're worth it.

-Federation Elite Starter Park (1.5K Z) (Would this be a worth whiled quality of life bundle?)

    Second Chance Stuff
-No Win Scenarios Event Buyout - Second Chance (2K Z)
    - The Battle at the Binary Stars Events Buyout - Second Chance (2K Z)
    - The Pahvo Event Buyout - Second Chance (2K Z)
    - To Hell with Honor Event Buyout - Second Chance (2K Z)

    Ships
-Titan Science Destroyer [T6] (Can I use the T6 Starship Coupon Gift, on this?)
-Mudd's Choice Pack of Dread (14,750 Z) (These look cool, but idk if they're good)
-Any recommendations for a few of the best science ships to buy

Any recommendations for a newbie would really help.

To clear up some of the questions in here.

First up, the T6 coupons will NOT work in the Mudd's Market area of the Cstore. I wish they did but they won't.

The in game description for the physical coupon states "This coupon allows you to claim a single tier 6 starship in the zen store." As the first sentence. The last bit states "Some exclusions may apply. Ships found in the New Items section of the Zen Store cannot be purchased with this coupon." So there is an added bit of info stating that some exclusions may apply. Again that's for the physical coupons themselves.

In the Cstore description it states: "Purchasing this will grant a pack that has 3 100% off coupons inside of it for any individual T6 ship found in the Tier 6 tab in the Zen Store." The bit in bold limits the coupon to ships that appear in the Tier 6 tab of the cstore. Mudd's Market is NOT part of the tier 6 cstore tab and as such would not be eligible for a 100% off coupon. So before anyone tries the "that's false advertisement" nonsense, it clearly says in the description of the item that it works only for the tier 6 cstore tab. If you did not read the description beforehand that is 100% on you and not on Cryptic.

With that said however, you can send a ticket to customer service explaining the situation and then ask for a refund. However they are under no obligation to do so.

I'd suggest the Titan since it is brand new & for all factions but perhaps not first, the 31st Century 3-pack since, again, good for all factions, then I'm repeating myself again but since good for all factions the Cardassian 3-pack as well.

Then also be aware, if you're not already, that Cryptic made Romulan ships good for both Fed & KDF alignment so in essence good for all factions since Jem'Hadar have to choose an alignment. Then some JH ships are worth considering too.

After that, more professional players choose ships because of certain: traits, some consoles that are universal, &/or weapons.

Also, welcome back, at least you have a good treasure chest to start (again) from.

i get it, we all get it, but your descriptors (cryptic, not you) are not well put on the main page of the event/item that gets peoples attention first. see the main post up top.

akin to an ad for all 12 roll TP packages on sale for 4.99, only to get to the store and find out that it doesnt include anything above 1 ply. not false, per se, as you put it, but deceptive in many ways.

too many places to find your way out.

im just asking that you all learn to better define details in ALL places. it becomes less than honorable when all the places with details are not in sync.

It already says on the tokens some restrictions may apply and in the descriptions. It also says in black and white english (and other languages) that it works on ships in the tier 6 ship tab. that's about as specific as it can get short of lighting up the ships it works on when you crack them open. Nothing deceptive about it save in people's minds. All Cryptic can do is present the information to people, they can't comprehend it for them at the same time. It's also incumbent on people to do a little research into what they're buying before they hand over the cash as well. Otherwise it's like the parents that buy a rated M game for their 11 year old then complain about the content of the game like it's the game company's fault. I'm all for transparency, but that transparency also demands personal responsibility.
