While I haven't had any of the problems with transports getting stuck myself. It is nice to see they are extending the event for those who have gotten the issues.
Nice to see? Yeah no...this is not even compensation for the problem they caused. What would have been ACTUALLY nice to see would have been a REAL compensation for this cluster TRIBBLE of an event. The base minimum they should have done would have been to give everyone advancement in the event for however many days it takes them to fix this. This is on TOP of anything they earned so far. On top of that, they should be giving people who reported issues more compensation...instead, they IGNORE reports of problems (yes I have sent them in to be ignored)...so...yeah. Trash company won't even do the bloody bare minimum.
Your comments on how badly the devs treat customers are spot on. There communication is downright terrible below average professional standards. Compensation for bugs and problems is worse than normal for an MMO. Same for bug fixing and basic QA all well below average levels and QoL while improved in some areas, overall QoL is the worst it’s ever been.
On the plus side I did find one positive side effect from the cluster tribble. By ignoring the beaming people up and just blowing stuff up for the bugged extended amount of time. I managed to stack all the damage bonus’s over time to shoot for 450k+. Not 450k DPS but 450,000 raw damage per weapon shot on the tooltip before resistance and before critical. Which is a theoretically sustained 2+ million DPS ship output. Loads of fun compared to playing the TFO in the correct way which is just flat out boring and penalizes the player for playing in the correct way. Its one thing to do a million DPS in a 60 second ISE. But how about doing 2+ million sustained ship DPS output for a 20mins+ TFO Couldn't do that without the cluster tribble of bugs. EDIT: Normally I don't take screenshots or talk about my DPS but this DPS was so stupid I did take screenshots of the silly raw damage numbers. If I have my math's right my critical hits are outputting 1 million damage raw. Then add -DR to boost it further. That's just absurd damage all due to the cluster tribble of bugs.
I know there is more to the game then DPS but this is one event where focusing on silly DPS scaling and blowing stuff up is more fun then playing the TFO “correctly”.

I'm gonna do that too now. Time to play around with some mechanics.
No idea why but reading your post just gave me a silly idea. Take one of the worst weapons in game, Transphasic. Give them 100% shield Pen then use this silly bugged event to scale the Transphasic damage up to absurd levels. Then when people tell me Transphasic are useless I have some great screenshots to confuse them. Wouldn't have thought about that without your post, thanks. A boring event is now fun due to your forum posts
chronitons are worse than transphasics - at least transphasic have the shield penetration going for them, as useless as it is for being way too small of an amount and the damage being too low to make proper use of it...chroniton has the most useless proc in the game - namely, a slowdown effect which is not usable anywhere because enemies either already move slower than zootopia's sloth or for the few enemies that DO move quickly, slowing them for 10 seconds does absolutely nothing of any value
if i want to stop an enemy moving, i'll drop a grabbity well on them - which affects far more targets to boot - or just flat-out vaporize them
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Now those are even more useless. My thinking is it only takes 1 trait to get my Transphasic mines to 100% shield pen and in theory with the extended timeframe bugs in the new TFO over 20+ mins I can get the raw damage of Transphasic up to 50k per mine. That's more then a 500k DPS output from the ship with only Transphasic weapons. Bit of a joke setup but if I am right it should make some interesting screenshots to have 500k DPS output with 100% shield pen.
I like that coldnapalm is arguing for the players so forcefully. Like you, I don't expect all of his suggestions to be adopted, but it's still nice to have such an aggressive advocate. Since we never get all that we ask for, it's best to ask for more than we expect to receive, eh?
I suppose you can look at it that way. I would personally prefer arguing for something that seems more realistic in a similar situation, since I feel like devs would be more likely to listen/implement it.
I do agree with the general idea that Cryptic should provide some form of compensation in a situation like this, and would have argued for it had they not already stated they would extend the event.
Once again...extending the event is NOT EVEN COMPENSATION. Hell they actually get a BENEFIT from it as they pad their metrics.
Once again...extending the event is NOT EVEN COMPENSATION. Hell they actually get a BENEFIT from it as they pad their metrics.
It is though, you were compensated for wasted timed, on a limited timed event, with more time on the event. That is the literal definition of compensation.
I agree with coldnapalm's assertion here regarding compensation. The extension of the event itself is not compensation in anyway for any player(s) that ran the tfo event then didn't properly receive the reward as intended.
The extension of the event merely offers an additional opportunity to now "reclaim" what should've already been rewarded but wasn't. A player has to redo the tfo event again to claim that reward so an extension is somewhat like a reset on the amount of needed days but doesn't correct the missing reward.
Not ideal & its an easiest route bare minimum approach I expect from Cryptic but under the circumstances & Cryptic's history I'm content with it since I don't expect Cryptic to go back & sift through all the data of players that hadn't been able to complete the tfo event. To look at each individual one & read the data about which players participated & should've received the reward if during that tfo event the npc ship got stuck & then wouldn't complete.

You're saying that as if getting the bug where you completed the TFO, but didn't get the daily event progress, completely locked you out of getting ANY progress on that day. Unless this is the case, there is NOTHING justifying the level of compensation that coldnapalm is calling for.
Its not perfect as you have two smaller doors you almost always have to pass 1-2 boffs manually(aka the move icon next to their avatar, first make them go to the center of door entrance and second time give them a destination to pass it) but still a lot less trouble than the ultra bugged TFO with the frequent afker players
You can also click the button to beam all your BOFFs to you thats at the bottom of the BOFF health/shields UI element.
Tried recall function after 3 of my pets got stuck at one of the doorways...no love. I had to go back and let them pass one at a time, anchoring the ones that passed while I went back for the others. Needless to say, that was fairly annoying.

Could you please explain a bit more about this? I don't understand what you mean by " managed to stack all the damage bonus’s over time". It does sound amusing, but I'm just not following how you do that.
i'm guessing he's primarily talking about ruin of our enemies, which stacks infinitely as long as you don't change maps - there are others that also don't expire until you change maps, but most of them have limits

Well, tonight was the first time I wasted time running the TFO for no Progress. Looks like the Battleship got stuck. After a while someone said to hold fire and let the Synths destroy it. They didn't. There seems also not to be that hidden 10 minute timer to close out the end phase. Two left. Eventually, we just died and stayed dead for a while. The number of Synths firing on that Battleship was ridiculously high to no avail.
Eventually the other two left and I was alone. I parked my Legendary Intrepid right above the stuck Battleship and threw a number of Mega Gravity Wells on Synths right by the Battleship hoping that the Warp Core Breaches would do it in. Feedback Pulse, Delayed Overload Cascade, Auxiliary Ejection Assembly. All blew up dozens of Synths to no affect. I couldn't Warp out as I was in a constant Red Alert.
Went to the Change Character Screen hoping that would reset it when I went back in. Nope. Tried logging out and then back in. No reset. I finally shut the client down but when I logged the Character back in, the TFO was gone.

That's why the bulk of my post was discussing the extension of the event. I don't think I even mentioned any other of coldnapalm's ideas of compensation, did I? Sci321, that would be like me saying, "You're saying," you're totally okay with players wasting their time completing the event tfo & receiving no reward once, twice, maybe more times. I accept "bugs" happen even under ideal conditions & best intentions, which currently is definitely not ideal conditions in the world. I was just pointing out that the mere extension of the event tfo is NOT compensation then in my last paragraph I laid-out my thoughts about maybe why it was addressed this way.
Two minor solutions to the current event before fixing, Take the priors world elite satellite if you have one ,
Do not rescue the command cruisers , those you beam three crew onto , drop that in chat at the start and pray its read and understood , many people just cant help themselves ignoring good advice. then wonder why at the end they have to leave to a penalty cause the command cruiser is stuck in the station and wont die.
Any crusier or transport that is stuck or motionless: turn off your auto fire, heal only damage to yourself, don't kill the synths, drop the satellite next to the transport or stuck cruiser so it pulls in the synths , some it may kill but most synths can now reach and kill the offending dumb a55 ship .
This will take a little bit of time but better than a leavers penalty and completes the TFO
main one is to stop people rescuing are the 3 transported crew command crusiers , the Galaxy X especially I found to be the main reason to have to leave and take a penalty
Laddy, don't you think you should... rephrase that??
Noticed something if you answer the Admirals hail at the end of this TFO it will remove you from the map if not in red alert and if the mark box rewards haven't popped up you end up not getting any rewards or daily progression. So when he hails you at the end close the window and leave after picking up your marks.

Yeah, the recall function only works on BOFFs IIRC.
It did not work on my BOffs; first small door is the problem area. Also ran into another bug; escaping out of the ground battle cut scene, with the weird plasma tusked targ, prevents the npc's from spawning.
You can also run this mission solo as private event. Get ship with cloak, sit at the starbase and go do something else until end phase, shoot some mobs and go back to hiding.
