So I did a bit of searching around, and found a few reports here and there of a similar bug, but none with the same context in which I'm having it.
The bug is that I'm getting "InvalidEntityName []" as my ship name.
When I click on the portrait in the top left and expand the details, that's what it lists the ship name as.
In episodes and the likes, when the ship name comes up in dialogue, it's just blank.
I've already tried a few things people suggested to fix similar bugs, but to no avail.
Is this a known bug, is there anyone experiencing it, and most importantly--is there any solution?
What is the name that you chose for your ship? Maybe that is what is triggering this to happen.
Was one of the auto-generated names. One of the things I've tried, probably should've mentioned in the original post, was changing the name of the ship.
The name change was successful, but the problem persisted afterwards still.
It's only one that one character, and it happens for every ship. I've also tried changing to a different ship, changing that ones name, and a few other things.
Do you have any spare Dry Dock slots?
Try moving the ship with the wrong name to Dry Dock and back to Active Ship Roster, see if that resets it.
Or IF it is one of the "unlocked" and reclaimable ships...remove all the gear on it... than discharge the ship (remove all together). Then go reclaim the ship from the various vendors. MAKE SURE IT IS AN UNLOCK and not one you need to buy with Dilithium or was from a Prize Pack.

Tried both of those, didn't seem to fix it either. Thanks for the suggestions though.
I'm actually using this as an excuse to start a new character anyways--The skill points could've been allocated better, and I wanted to play with a different career. Luckily the problem isn't account-wide, it's localized to just that one character.
Posting here again because I've noticed another thing presumably relating to the bug.
Whenever I log into the character experiencing the bug, I get a few notifications from the system channel of chat. They are as follows:
"GetCritterDescriptionByID" takes 2 argument(s).
GetCritterDescriptionByID <int><int>
"GetCritterGroupDescriptionByID" takes 2 argument(s).
GetCritterGroupDescriptionByID <int><int>
I have since started a new character to replace that one, so here's hoping that it doesn't happen again.
Got "InvalidEntityName []" today on my own name, trying to switch outfits (after I had added a new boff). I relogged, and it was okay again. Seems related to ship/boff roster you make changes to.
