Newbie Stuck in Infinite Loop On 1st Diplomatic Mission

Hi All.
I'm new to STO. Just playing the very first diplomatic mission where I have to escort a Vulcan ambassador to P'Jem. I've collected the Ambassador and he's retired to his quarters. I leave the Vulcan system (I now have to go to P'Jem) but as soon as I get to the Vulcan Sector map, A pop-up tells me to press F to re-enter the vulcan system. I can't dismiss this box. I can drag the map around and locate P'Jem, but I don't know how to tell my ship to fly there. The accelerate Up button is disabled (says Quantum Slipstream is disabled).
I'm in an infinite loop of entering and leaving the Vulcan system and am really at a loss.
Any advice?

I think I've got it worked out. I transwraped back to Sol. then warped to sector space. I was confused about how to fly my ship. I was trying to click the "maximum speed" button which was disabled, not realising I could just drag the bar up manually.
Anyway, I've managed to get myself to P'Jem and the story is proceeding.

You can double-click any location on the Galaxy Map (M) to have your ship travel there.
You'll also find a small icon on the right side of the on-screen mission tracker that makes travel easier.
When flying manually, Q and E (by default) control your ship speed.

Whenever you are close enough to a star system, a pop-up will appear on screen allowing you to enter it. Many are mission-specific and don't appear unless you have the relevant mission, but there are plenty of places around the galaxy that are 'social' areas and allow entry anyway -- Sol, Andoria, Vulcan, Wolf 359, Risa, Drozana, Deep Space K7, Deep Space Nine, Bajor and many more.
