I've made a character for the heck of it for the Discovery Starfleet tutorial.
Everything was alright, until I had to recover parts for my ship. The phaser arrays (Thanks, Discovery for TNG arrays!) are disabled.
Luckily the ship's photon torpedo still works, so I don't have to worry about calling a GM to get around this.
But if this faction gets a 2nd Season boost (adding available species, such as Saurians, Disco Andorians, Disco Tellerites, perhaps a recruitment *fingers crossed for good luck*, though this seems to be incredibly doubtful), there may be increased traffic for Disco Starfleet characters.
Best to nip this bug before that happens

Edit: The photon range was within 10 km. The phasers became active approx. 3-4 km.
After this, the phasers were enabled when reaching w/in 10 km of the Klingon satellites.
Still, this may be a minor bug, but it's still a hiccup for the tutorial.
Edit 2: At the next mission map, for 'The Shadow Knows', the phasers (fore and aft) were disabled throughout the mission, no matter how close I was to the Klingon ships, so I had to rely on the forward photon and the science officer's Tachyon Beam to wear down the shields to fully use the torpedoes.
Edit 3: In the Children of War episode, I couldn't use the phasers in the first set of space battles, but when I went back up again for the second part, I could use the phasers again. It's not very consistent.
