Doesn't matter which ground map, picking up loot on ground causes the game to lag/rubberband for a few seconds. Gets really bad on open zones like Nimbus.
It's the general lag bug, I would guess. When you interact with something, it sends information to the server, and whatever is causing the general lag bug (presumably Akamai's service) chokes on large amounts of data coming into the server (presumably because it thinks that that data is a DDoS attack) and causes the lag. It's intermittent, too. I would guess that it happens when incoming data reaches a certain threshold, probably across the entire server. I can go long periods without seeing any lag spikes at slow times of the day, but when it gets more populated, I will see things like you describe.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
