Is it good? It is adequate for most PvE builds - however; If you are thinking of rolling out the DPS - It is crappy ship.

Also keep in mind, in order to obtain the Battle Cloak, you are sacrificing three much needed console slots, slots you could be using better consoles.

It is also lacking on the tactical console area, with only three tact console slots. The ship is only meant to be a fun ride throughout your STO experience.

darkbladejk you are misunderstanding what I am trying to say. You are arguing against a different point to what I was trying to get across. Perhaps it’s me explaining my position poorly but your talk about off-tank and picking out specialised Elite DPS runs shows me that we are crossing wires and you are not understanding my position correctly.

I also don’t agree on threat as I don’t need to sustain 1m-1.75m DPS to break the tanks threat. That’s not how it works in game. But none of this dedicated tank talk really has anything to do with the Vizier.

This will be the last I post on this as I see no need to repeat myself again after explaining it as many times as I have. Some claims were made that the Vizier is a bad buy and not worth the zen, which people are entitled to hold as an opinion. I pointed out the value of the ship as a tank. A claim was then made that tanks had been largely killed off and aren't needed, thus making the Vizier an objectively bad buy. I pointed out how that's not true based off those Elite runs and how a tank was not only present in all of them, but was required to achieve the results present there. I also broke down the threat mechanic to demonstrate how the Vizier can be used to keep threat against even the highest of high end builds at the moment.

In regards to threat generation, I used the 1/1 ratio as an example and to keep the numbers simple and easy for people to understand. The real numbers are obviously different and I have not claimed otherwise. I also used one of my own parses to demonstrate the validity of my example. In my 123k parse I was pulling 13,087 threat per second. The guy with the highest DPS in that run was putting out 2,484 threat per second. This means if he wanted to pull from me without directly taunting that would mean at a minimum he would need to multiply his damage 5 times over and sustain it if he wanted to have any hope of actually pulling from me. All of these numbers are what the parsers are telling us which means it doesn't matter whether we agree with the numbers or not. I was never in any danger of losing threat even with all the group combined. Overall I was demonstrating how tanking is still mathematically sound and in some instances required, and how it applied to the Vizier. If you wish to continue to spit build theory then by all means you are welcome to PM me. Otherwise I have said my peace here.
